    KWh charges, national survey?

i started folding again to do home heating and I looked at my electric bill and the breakdown of my KWh costs needs to take place when I'm sober. Out of curiousity, what are members KWh costs aside from tacked on fees? Since I live in Honolulu but don't have PV, my electric bill and weather...

    Inconsistent GPU folding

I have a dual SLI2 mobo (A75A-G35) with an Llano A2 (dual0core) CPU doing GPU-only folding. The two cards are "identical" EVGA 650Tis OC'd to 1097MHz. Right now, the rig is on an older Rosewill 650w (I think) "green unit" new out of the box and I have it on a kill-a-watt to monitor...

    Burma Shave

Show your age if you remember! I've been chasing a cool cat named ice_burg, and might pass him in the next few days, but I would just be squeaking by, so it's not a mow or a haircut, but so very close like a good shave. (He's tough!)

    Advice: G530 vs. G555

I'm looking at building a dual-GPU rig just for folding and testing. Basically, I'm going to disable any integrated graphics and run 1-2 nVidia Kepler-based GPUs on a 24/7 basis. For the most part, the CPU will only go off idle in order to feed data to the GPUs, and even a single-core...

Curiosity killed the cat, Satisfaction brought it back

New math. If I divide my electric bill by my KWH, then I get .40, or 40 cents per KWH. I'm just curious as to what others are paying. Oahu, Hawaii.

    You know you're ramping when...

    1) Your tough-looking FedEx lady is the woman you most want to see. 2) You're folding with a Sempron box and only the case has "potential."

    PCIe version and performance

I have an old sempron box (uni-processor) with PCIe v1 and am wondering if I would be crippling GPU folding because of the old PCIe version on the mobo. The GPU I am planning to use is a PCIe v3 GTX 650Ti with 768 CUDA cores.

Approximate PPDs please - damn we fold HARD!

Congrats to the team. I used to be (back in the day) ranked way higher than I am now, but between then and now, I've always been folding at least modestly. So, on a whim because I'm an old-school CPU folder that just started GPU folding, can I get some yells out to help me kick more...

GPU client running, should I turn off CPU client?

My apologies, it's probably been asked before, but I'm recovering from injuries and have just started folding with a ATI 2600, and a dual-core AMD. In general, do I get better results running both, or just the GPU client? Thanks in advance for replies!

Drive orientation - If it doesn't boot horizontally, tip the case?

Background: I run standard cases that mount the drives horizontally. I don't run SATA at home, but I do run PATA and Ultra-SCSI320 drives at home. I've been on a big project for the last two years, and now have more time to futz around with my home PCs. Anyway, two of my PATA drives...

AMD is stupid with their dx2 prices

To settle the question, Windows XP Professional ***IS*** HThreading-aware, so it will know that you only have two physical processors, and thus will use all 4 virtual processors. This means that a dual-core 820 will look like 4 virtual processors and XP Pro will utilize them. And HThreading...

Borg Newbie - Redirection to port 80

I have authority over a few machines at work, and would like to do burn-in testing using the FAH console version. I would do burn-in testing where FAH runs for several days, and the burn-in testing will be done. Part of this will be to test the environment as well. However, I am behind two...

    No such thing as DeadWood!

I got offended seeing the term "deadwood" used in reference to the team. There's no such thing as "deadwood" on this team. Everyone who's folded for 33 at one time or another deserves our recognition and support. In the future, please use the acronym NCP (Not Currently Producing) in lieu...
