Ragenrok,
What did you get for temps on your VRM when running that card with the mcw60 and the little heatsinks. I did something very similar with a 5870 this week. I used my old mcw60 from my 8800GTX and took the 4x4pin version of what look like your 2x2 pin sinks and cut them to fit on the...
Did you make sure to put an addative in the water loop. If you run straight water it will be loud. Add a little antifreeze or water wetter and it will fix that right up.
t-mobile user here. I am not looking forward to this. I like t-mobiles prices (which are the lowest of the major carriers), and I like their customer service which was great. I have not heard the same things about ATT.
Not a good day.
Gea,
I read your document as I have been wanting to do exactly as the others have posted in this thread (ESXi hosting a VM NAS/SAN with direct hardware access). I noticed that one of the notes in your document is that you need to use VT-D for the passthrough. The box that I currently have...
looks like a nice card. I really like the cooler on it. It does a couple things I like very well:
1. It plays Civ V well, my current favorite game.
2. it has a great cooler and is quiet, which is important to me!
3. performance and overclocking appear to be very good for a budget...

I have another vote for go big or go home. I have a complete custom built water setup for my GPU and CPU. I am running slightly older equipment but the concept is the same. The biggest reasons i like it are:
1. GPU is extremely cool. my graphics card never breaks 60C when in game.
2...
The card mentioned earlier supports HD audio, the one you linked to does not.
The graphics card has its own built in "sound card" for lack of a better term. The card uses its own audio controller for the sound, you simply need to plug an HDMI cable into the card and the TV (or reciever)...
To me an absolute necessity is VLC Player. I like to have everything integrated into WMC, however there are just some things that WMC can't do and VLC player has never let me down.

what i ended up doing was calling up DTN and they walked me through setting up ICS (which i had already tried), they were unsuccessful with that. They then sent out someone to install a box to convert the satelite cable to ethernet. now we are running through the router first, then computer...
Hello,
I am in a bit of a dilemma. We just built a new shop and are trying to get wireless throughout the whole thing. However the situation is unique and I need some help.
The internet connection is actually a large area wireless connection. It is provided by DTN. Basically we have...
If you want to to be able to game I would use either of these:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161308
or
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161337
This would be ESXi.
The two most important things would be:
1. Not losing to much performance on the router. A little is ok, as there are only a couple computers on the network, however one is a server running with a website, ftp, torrents, tf2 server, etc.
2. I also think that...
So I want to combine my pfsense router, webserver, and file server onto a vmware box. This is for a home setup and i love to experiment. The main reason behind this is that the computers that would be replaced are all P4 or P3 systems. I can put this on a socket 775 system I have waiting...
Not sure about the cost, but this will do what you need (I think):
One thing to keep in mind is that I have a very similar setup to this below (except I use a different CPU and discrete graphics) and it is very quiet, I use it similar to what you pry will be, as I watch all TV through it with...
just do what i do:
1. No cable TV.
2. OTA TV (Orlando gets about 40-50 channels).
3. Have media center computer (you can build out of spare parts, just get an ati 5000 series card for hardware acceleration). This is your DVR, Windows Media Center is awesome.
4. Get a gyration...
if you are having trouble with a dual card setup, why not just sell them both and get a fast single card. like a 480 or 5870? It may be a bit slower, but you will not have any of the dual card issues.
You will only be able to run 3 monitors off the 5850. you can only run 2 DVI Monitors and displayport, or 1 DVI, 1 HDMI, and the displayport. Not HDMI and both of the DVI togather.
I find that almost any decent graphics card will play Home and Garden TV reasonably well if it is not in HD, but if in HD make sure it is at least a modern onboard solution, any descrete graphics card should work.
There are couple questions that need answered before you can get a good answer...
Partially correct, Here is one example where i am correct. However there are others where you are correct. I think the mercedes ML350 is more like a 15% difference.
Sorry, i just like diesel because they are simple to work on, the infrastucture is in place already, and they sound awesome...
Not meaning to bash you, but the concept of the automakers. They don't make very many TDI's because they say there is not much demand for them, yet they are constantly sold out and hard to find. That would lead me to believe that there is plenty of demand for them, they just don't want to make...
I have 2 and 7/8 socket 775 systems. HTPC, main rig, and the spare rig (spare rig is the 7/8 because it is complete except for cpu). Not planning on updating anytime soon. The HTPC was just built actually with 775 because cost was very low. As for main rig, i would only plan on updating the...
I think you did the right thing. I feel the eyefinity setup would be more fun to game on then a single monitor setup (which is what i have......)
its not all about the most power, its about how immersive the experience is. Let us know your thoughts on a 480 SLI setup VS 5870s CF with...
This sounds more like it is a problem with the projector and wiring the the card. Have you tried to hook a 3rd 1080p monitor up to the card and see if it would clone that way? Maybe you need an different projector. Or maybe just get a big LCD to replace the projector (slickdeals.net is great...
