How much worse would the latencies be?

I've been out of the loop for a while, and am looking to go with an SSD for my new machine. Prices on the 830 are dropping to a point where I could get 2x 256gb 830s for not much more than a single 256gb 840 pro. Wouldn't 2 of these in software RAID0 blow away an 840 pro?

Looks like the 840 release date got pushed back to 11/06, according to Newegg.

m0h1t's recommendations are a good starting point. Most people don't need to crank their vTT/vNB very high to achieve a good overclock. From the testing I've done on my board so far, it seems like my setup does for 100% stability. I'm constantly playing with it.

I am experiencing this issue as well. Specifically, it seems the memory clocks affect this odd flickering or "tearing" issue. I can keep my core clock low in 2D mode (I've arbitrarily set it at 250), but my memory clock needs to be around 1125 to not get tearing/flickering...which is odd...

My chip is 1.1v VID. I bumped up the NB, NB GTL, and VTT a bit as well. I can probably take it higher but don't need to.

e0 q9550 + p45 mobo + decent cooling = easy 4ghz oc I came from an e8400 @ 3.9 ghz, and the quad blows it away.

The Q9550 I just received from Newegg is an E0 revision, VID of 1.1v. Right now, it's doing 4ghz (471x8.5) at 1.25v, rock solid. I'm very happy with it.

Agreed...mostly because I have a BB gift card which desperately needs to be used.

Sounds awesome, CompuG##K. Any feedback on the software? One thing I like about my current setup is using the "uberoptions" mod to enable a lot of customization on the Logitech mouse software, and I'm not sure this is something I can do with the G500.
