just picked up 2 of the 270x cards from newegg for $199 each based on this review. I game at 1920x1080 so I hope they will be good for my two rigs.

Can someone expand on this statement and maybe explain a bit more what that means and what the display options are because of this.
Also does Eyefinity support 5x1 portrait yet? And would this specialized hub help in achieving that setup?
Thanks.
My only issue was when I would go to reboot the machine after an update or driver install the DP monitor would not turn on. It would remain dark. Even after a couple of reboots it would not help. What I had to do is go and shutdown the computer and then turn it back on and the DP monitor...
well I can verifiy from personal experiance now that it does work. At least for three 21" monitors running 1600x1200 resolution.

I just got my DP to VGA adapter from monoprice last night for $20. Already had a 21" dell monitor 1600x1200, picked up 2 referbished 21" thinkvision monitors from ecost for $85 each, a radeon 5770 from new egg for $160 put it all together and everything worked great. Total cost about $350.

I was thinking the exact same thing.
There are plenty of realistic stairs in DX9 games so how come all of a sudden we need tessalation so the stairs don't look sloped?
Maybe it's running on the eq2 engine :)
Any idea if finally two 8800 GTX's can run eq2 on something other then balanced graphic setting without horrible lag and choppiness?
I was wondering how effective quad SLI would be powering a setup using Maxtor's TripleHead2Go on three 1280x1024 flat panels.
triplehead2go
You can pick up a 17" flat panel for $150 and the maxtor device for $300 for a total cost of $750 for a 3840x1024 resolution gaming experience.
The difference between Balanced Mode and High Quality is more then just AA and AF settings. Things like shadows, number of vegetation, type of water reflection, number of spell particles and so on is directly affected by this setting. So even though the 7800 GTX was able to play the balanced...
It is nice to know NVIDIA is spending their time creating SLI profiles for synthetic benchmarks.
nice one :)
So along with that quote this has to be my second favorite.
Weve made a serious commitment to NVIDIA, and they to us, as the graphics platform of choice for EverQuest II. Our 3D...
I am having the same problem with my abit av8 mb. It claims to support 4gb memory and on bootup it shows 4gb but in windows mycomputer properties it only shows 3.00 GB of RAM??? and i have 4x1GB PQI dims. No idea why windows can't see more then 3gb of memory. btw it's windows xp sp2.

Kyle, just wondering if you could do a benchmark to see what kind of performance EQ2 can get out of a SLI setup. Maximum resolution and IQ settings. I looking to build a new computer to be able to play EQ2 the way it was meant but have not been able to find any reviews done on SLI with EQ2. I...
Just wondering if it's better to just go with a 6800GT SLI now. Cost would be about ($200 MB + 2 6800GT @ $400) = $1000. Or if you spent ($200 MB + 2 6600GT @ $200 )=$600 plus if the GT's drop in half later you would still have to buy 2 6800GT's for $400 more to replace the 6600GT's. = $1000.
I have to agree with wilkinru and Z3Px. I was mislead by a 9/10 award given to the MX700 cordless mouse by maximumpc, where they stated that you could not tell the difference between a corded and this cordless mouse. Well I can tell very much so. Lag is still there and response is not 100%...
