Hey everyone. I'm having issues with my P8Z77-V where it takes a long time to reboot or shut down. I can't put it in sleep mode because it will just hang and I'll have to cold reset it.
I've got version 2003 of the BIOS, i5-3570K, 8GB Corsair RAM, and a Geforce 770 video card. The wifi module...
While I hadn't run into any large glitches, I did take a break from Skyrim after they announced what the 1.4 patch would contain. Up to then I had been doing more exploring than questing, but I was starting to focus more on quests, so I figured I'd wait for 1.4 to fix up a bunch of quest and...
Amazon's had several sales lately where you buy a 4GB Xbox/Kinect bundle, and they give you a $100 credit. I used the credit to buy a 250GB hard drive. You might want to see if they're offering the same deal or maybe wait a little bit to see if they offer it again.
I'm at 80 hours played and have done a ton of exploring and individual quests, but feel like I've barely progressed in the main or faction quests. I think I'll start trying to focus on them, but damn if it isn't easy to get sidetracked. I went to Falkreath to continue the Dark Brotherhood quest...
Sums it up pretty well. I'll just point out that Metro 2033 has some FANTASTIC atmosphere, especially if you play it with russian dialogue and english subtitles. The sense of vulnerability and loneliness when going onto the surface is unmatched. It's also one of the best looking PC games I've...
The vast majority of people probably don't even think about the fact that there are real people constructing these games for 2+ years at a time before it shows up on retail shelves. They see "Call of Duty", and they buy it. It's only the hardcore who know the difference between Infinity Ward and...
I wasn't sure if I should put this in the PC gaming section or not, but if the mods feel it should be moved, I won't complain. :p
I currently am running a Q6600/GTX280 setup and was thinking about getting a second card to allow me to turn the PhysX effects to their highest. I haven't been...
I'm forcing myself to wait for the PC release. I keep hearing how awesome the game is though, which is encouraging. However, if I find a deal for the console version before the PC version is released, I'll probably pick that up instead.
True, but I'm not convinced it'll fix my problem. Like I said, the message asking for a CD/DVD driver went away when I switched to PATA. It still doesn't see my hard drive.
I've been having a LOT of issues.
Every time I boot from the DVD it spends about 20 minutes at the Starting Windows screen. Then the initial screen comes up, I choose English, then click Install Now. After that it spends another 20 minutes or so thinking hard about... something.
The first...
Got Half-Life 2 a second time when i bought The Orange Box, then I bought TOB again on the 360.
Bought both Oblivion and Fallout 3 for PC and 360.
Got BioShock for both PC and 360.
Had X-Wing on discs, then bought the CD-ROM special edition, had TIE Fighter on CD-ROM, then bought them...
It's realistic in that you die quickly, sure, but endlessly respawning waves of enemies and showers of grenade spam aren't what I call realistic. Don't get me wrong, the Call of Duty games, even on normal difficulty, have given me a greater appreciation for the actual horrors of war, but I...
No, 2 3 and 4 are all freakin impossible. :p I've beaten 2 and 4, and played most of 3, all on normal. I've tried 2 and 4 on veteran and they're just stupid. It's not fun at all for me to get insta killed as soon as i run up a stairway. The endless spawns, super accurate enemies, and pure trial...
I've never been able to beat a Call of Duty game on Veteran. Just way way way beyond my skill level and amount of patience.
Getting all the achievements in Burnout Paradise is probably the most satisfying thing I've done as far as achievements go.
The only issue I've noticed in a GFWL game, Fallout 3, is that when a notification pops up, like for an achievement or message or something similar, some of the textures begin to flicker in the game until the notification goes away.
With Steam having the entire series of Company of Heroes games bundled together for $40, I decided there was no excuse for me not to have played this game after all the good things I've heard about it. It's installing now.
I've never really played a strategy game before.
I hope it's good.
Oblivion with all the settings turned up and Qarl's High Res Texture Mod is stunning, so it might be worth trying again with your new build.
If Fable 2 ends up coming to the PC, I'd recommend that. I enjoyed just wandering around the scenery in that game on the Xbox 360.
If you haven't already bought it, there's a demo for Forza 2 that you might want to check out.
If you want something more arcadey, Burnout Paradise is a great time. I've put well over 100 hours into it, and the crashes make it fun even when you mess up.
The combat parts can be frustrating at times, and the levels require a significant amount of trial and error to get through. However, overall I really enjoyed the game. Once you get used to the platforming and controls, it's really awesome to do a crazy chain of moves to get from one point to...
The Xbox.com forums still have a Halo forum. It doesn't seem specific to the PC version, but you might still find help and people to play with there.

Dawn of War II and Fallout 3 are two games that spring to mind. They both use Games for Windows Live and have achievements that contribute to your total gamerscore. I know GTA IV on PC uses Live for matchmaking but I'm not sure if it has achievements or not.
I'm glad they liked it, but damn, they have some shitty writers.
"The violence, which seeps into every nook and cranny of the title, runs so deeply that it is entangled in the very presentation."
What??
