I'm not really sure if it's a memory or motherboard problem. I'm able to get the highest overclocks on 2.5V. With more power, the overclock goes down. I don't have any problems with stock speeds at stock voltage.
I also won't be able to get 2 sets of Crucial. The price is with a $40 rebate and...
I've had my system for a while now and am looking to upgrade the ram to 2gb (4 dimms). The motherboard is MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum, and I'm running 2x512mb Corsair PC3200XLPT. There a good deal for 2x512MB Crucial Ballistix (for $32.49). The dilemma is that my Corsair don't like voltage. Anything...

I have installed this and have confirmed that this is the real thing.
OK, I ran memtest for windows and it got 1 error in about 4 hours. Therefore it is the memory. We'll see how it goes when I start loosening timings a bit.
I recently moved my comp to my basement. Ambient is around 16C. I've updated my bios to 1.8 beta which supposedly fixed the temp bug. Now I'm getting 23C idle and 34C running large fft in prime95. I hope these are the actual temps which would be very nice.
I can run memtest at 275 looping test 5 for 8 hours without a single error.
I've ran small fft for more than 6 hours without errors.
I have not tried 255. I'll do that soon.
I have K8N Neo2 Plat. with FX55 @ 2860 (11x260).
I have 2 x512mb XMS Twinx PC3200XL ram @ 260mhz 2.5-3-3-8 with 2.5V. All other timings are default. When running large fft in prime95, it will fail after about 1.5 hours. I'm pretty sure it's ram related. Anyway, my question is what timings can I loosen to help with the stability problems...
This mobo supports socket 939 cpus. I have all 4 SATA cables and the 2 power conversion cable from regular 4 pin to SATA. I also have the I/O shield. I'm only missing the big ribbon cables: floppy and ide.
capcombug, you have PM
The point of using coolant is to prevent corrosion and some even have antigrowth stuff in it. Coolant doesn't transfer heat as well as distilled water so that's why you should only use about 10% coolant.
I'm testing for a good overclock to run my system 24/7. I have an FX-55 on an Neo2. Voltage set in bios to 1.425 + 10% which gives me about 1.62. Under load, it overvolts to about 1.64. This is using a multimeter. Anyway, I passed 12 hours of small fft without any errors. However, when I run...
