Is there a website that you can go to that will show on average the amount of ppd you can expect from different cpu's/gpu's? The info would be nice to know if I am thinking of buying something so I can get the most bang for my buck.
My main rig is gonna be down for a bit hopefully will have it back up next week. Looks like the bios got corrupted again. Ordered a new bios chip from ebay. I think I'm going to need to look for a different board. This Asus P5N32-E SLI is just too finicky.
Some of the pics didn't come out as planned, so there will be a gap or two :D
I had some heat issues with a Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop with a C2D T7400 and nvidia 8600m gt. Something I always wanted to try was to liquid cool it, so I scrounged up some old parts I had lying around and went to...
Due to some issues beyond my control I had to stop my little farm. I'm back on a part-time basis. I just put together the following: 680i board, E6400 @ 2.4ghz (300x8), 2gb ddr2 @ 850 (4-4-4-12 1T), GeForce 250 GTS @ 800/1200 and will be running it during the day/evening. Got a question...I...

The new supercomputer, known as Roadrunner, which was built by scientists and engineers at IBM and Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, New Mexico, has exceeded the Petaflop (1,000 trillion calculations per second) barrier by processing more than...

Hook one of these to your farm and generate power from the heat
*Looks at Sunin*
This thread is rick-roll free ;):D
Take a look at this CPU cooler from Thermaltake

*Thinking of how far a quad would overclock with one of these*
Thinking about trying to get some $$$ together for a quad and I have this idea.
I bought 72 Voodoo 2 chips shown below:
I want to make them into keychains and sell them, prob on ebay.
Any ideas, thoughts, comments?
Anyone interested? I'm thinking of selling them for $7 shipped
What's everyone's plans for Memorial Day?
I'm planning (barring some inevitable thing sidetracking me :D) is to take the 2 e2160's out of my nekkid boxen, use the bsel mod to up the fsb to 1066 on each of them, then insert them into the 2 dell doxen I have. Then, take the E6400's out and pt...
to stop folding for the [H]orde and start folding for the Chimp Challenge:
ZoomZoomZoom
kazak
kylecottle
Br0k3nMan
Ereshkigal
Your contributions to the Chimp Challenge would more than likely put us in the lead!
They have it online here The PS has a fan spped adjustment knob on the back.
Not sure if the PS is the same 80+ cert. as the other Dynex case they had on sale a month ago but still good price!
I'm thinking of getting a P35 mobo for my next boxen. These boards don't have onboard graphics so, my question is:
Do you have to have a video card to run the diskless client? I have a card I can use to verify the overclock, set up the client, etc. but I don't want to keep it in there.
I found this ebay auction where a seller has a Abit Socket M Motherboard for $99.99
I wonder how well this would work for folding. I wonder if it's overclockable as well :D
Damnit no overclocking features Linky
I'm looking for a new/used laptop that has:
a 12 inch or less screen
Dual Core Processor
a dedicated GPU
and is under $800
any recommendations are welcome
Thanks in advance!
It's an open box MSI P6NGM-L LGA 775 NVIDIA GeForce7050 / nForce610i Micro ATX Intel Motherboard from Newegg. I was also looking at the Intel BOXDG31PR LGA 775 Intel G31 Micro ATX Intel MotherboardI'm going to be getting (hopefully) a E6600 and I need an inexpensive board that can overclock...
That's what this article says here. Don't know if it's a April Fools joke or not but, these would make some excellent boxen. You don't have to put it together...just hook up the cables, download the F@H client and voila instant 900ppd system...and if sony/stanford get their butts in gear and...
Is there any difference in performance with the SMP client between 1 stick (single channel) and dual sticks (dual channel) DDR2?
Also, is there a difference if you use faster memory and overclock?
The Gigabyte GA-945GCM-S2C board I purchased from Microcenter won't keep the overclock for some reason.
Here are my specs:
C2D E2160
1gb stick of OCZ 1066 memory
Katana 2 cooler
OCZ 850 watt power supply
I go into the BIOS and tried changing the FSB to 233, 266 and 300. I lock the...
