Correct, the PC is manually turned on / off upon entering / exiting the vehicle. I don't really even consider it a hassle. Press one button, wait a minute... then upon exit, click Start, Shut Down and you are done :)

well, i found a workaround! got to thinking... if i complete just the first part of windows install in another notebook, then when the PC reboots to complete installation, I shut it down and put the SSD in the netbook, maybe that would work... and it did!

I have no tried that yet, but I will shortly. I have seen multiple others online running 7 with the same system, however. I'll reply back in a bit once I test it.

updated a bit, two 22" chimei widescreen LCDs

i had zero dead pixels on each monitor, guess i got lucky. also, i keep my computer on my desk because i am constantly switching cases, power supplies, etc. the system is not loud at all, and i usually have music playing anyway so what little noise it does create is not audible
