The 939 dual (Opy 165 in my case, oce'd to 2.6) work just fine, and the SLI in it's own right, work well too. But, the drivers as supplied by Nvidia past version 81.98 do not work, this version and prior work flawlessly, as does the rest of this "cheap" board.

I will give these a try, but I'm thinking that because the release date of that patch is prior to the latest Nvidia driver release, that it will still not work with the newer drivers from Nvidia...we'll see.

They will need to crack it again, Nvidia just coded there newest drivers to defeat this patch...I own the ASrock board that this patch was originaly intended for, and while the older drivers work seamlessly, the newest release does not. Thanks Nvidia :rolleyes:

The older drivers, up until the recent version (forget version # off the top of my head) work flawlessly.....they must have changed a registry entry, or some code internal to the drivers to nix the ULI update patch on the newer releases.

Random hiccups are often a sign of an under supplied system, go get a quality PS with a power rating larger than you need based on the components you are running. If you are runnong just a couple of drives (ie no 8 drive raid arrays) and no SLI a 500W should be more than enough. Heh, just...

Heres my take on the whole price thing. If I owned a company, and wanted market share, I would price my latest and greatest card at a flat $200.00. If they can sell thier lower performing cards at that price with identical hardware, with the only diffrence being some laser cut traces on the GPU...

You didn't bump the in-game texture quality all the way to max did you? That makes a HUGE diffrence in performance...My modded 6800 doesn't even handle it well.

Yep that was on stock cooling, try backing down your Core clock, flash the BIOS to 1.5v and try again! BB = Best Buy :D

I got really bad freezing with most of my games and 3DMark 03 & 05 after enbling all pipes and the extra VS AND mild overclocking on my new BFG 6800 OC from BB..... After spending two days crawling the internet trying to find a fix, I finally nailed it.... History (tried & didn't work)...

Thanks Mark, I will try that tonight....on a side note, I fixed my freezing, pausing issues with my card last night by lowering the core speed back down to a 10 Mhz overclock (360), but was able to push the memory to 800+. Finally got 10,000+ in 3DMark03!

If, by chance , you are using an analog cable from your CD to your sound card....remove it and enable digital audio for all your CD drives.....

Sounds to me like another option would be to spend another hundred$ for the GT, get double the memory, get faster memory and have DDR3 to boot....then mod/overclock it to ultra speeds, and possibly beyond...?
