The 939 dual (Opy 165 in my case, oce'd to 2.6) work just fine, and the SLI in it's own right, work well too. But, the drivers as supplied by Nvidia past version 81.98 do not work, this version and prior work flawlessly, as does the rest of this "cheap" board.
I will give these a try, but I'm thinking that because the release date of that patch is prior to the latest Nvidia driver release, that it will still not work with the newer drivers from Nvidia...we'll see.
They will need to crack it again, Nvidia just coded there newest drivers to defeat this patch...I own the ASrock board that this patch was originaly intended for, and while the older drivers work seamlessly, the newest release does not. Thanks Nvidia
The older drivers, up until the recent version (forget version # off the top of my head) work flawlessly.....they must have changed a registry entry, or some code internal to the drivers to nix the ULI update patch on the newer releases.
Random hiccups are often a sign of an under supplied system, go get a quality PS with a power rating larger than you need based on the components you are running. If you are runnong just a couple of drives (ie no 8 drive raid arrays) and no SLI a 500W should be more than enough.
Heh, just...
I used the ULi PowerExpress Engine Enabling driver without issue on the drivers supplied on Nvidia's site prior to thier latest release without issue. It was a very easy setup and everything ran flawlessly, I was very impressed given my past bad experiences with this chipset manufacturer, and...
I got my dual ASrock SLI board a few weeks ago and had some extra time this weekend to try the new Nvidia drivers for my pair of XFX 6800XT's. Well it looks like NVidia screwed them up so that the ULI provided drivers wont allow the SLI to work anymore. Not too happy with that decision, way to...
The Video card manufacturers are killing thier golden goose to get the eggs...seems to be a classic mistake for alot of companies these days. If things stay the coarse, gamming will be relegated to consoles in a few years. I remember paying $90 for a VooDoo1 and spent a week trying to talk...
I just put my Asrock 939SLI32-eSATA2 together last week and was pleasantly suprised. No hassles at all with the installation, it runs very solid with my Mushkin value DDR3200 and Opteron 165 OC'd to 2.5Mhz.
Well, I stuffed everything into an old case this weekend and fired it up...Got my new opty 165 to 2.5 (9x 280) async using some old Mushkin value DDR3200. I didn't mess around with it much, just screwed with the FSB until I had problems and backed it down from there. I also installed 2 XFX...
Something that alot of people just dont seem to consider....it wouldn't be a niche market, if they were $100 cards. Hell, EVERYONE I know would be buying these like damn hot cakes if they were sold at a reasonable price. If they can sell the SAME card with some burt traces for $150 and turn a...
I am an absolute SLI noob (except for the old VooDoo2's :D ), but dont you need to set up the games in a panel somewhere to tell the SLI wich render mode to use? I THINK there is a config that needs to be made somewhere...
Heres my take on the whole price thing. If I owned a company, and wanted market share, I would price my latest and greatest card at a flat $200.00. If they can sell thier lower performing cards at that price with identical hardware, with the only diffrence being some laser cut traces on the GPU...
Mine should be here today, I'll keep you guys posted once I get it up and running. I got the MB, an Opty 165 and a set of the XFX 6800XT's from newegg. I know the XT's arent all that great, but for $100 a pop I couldn't resist some cheap SLI experimentation. I can always stuff them into my...
If you are overclocking, try turning your core speed back down to stock speeds or slightly below (325 Mhz should solve it). If this fixes your problem, use RT, or create a new BIOS to run both of your 3D settings for voltage and clock speed the same. Now go back to overclocking......If this...
You didn't bump the in-game texture quality all the way to max did you? That makes a HUGE diffrence in performance...My modded 6800 doesn't even handle it well.
I got really bad freezing with most of my games and 3DMark 03 & 05 after enbling all pipes and the extra VS AND mild overclocking on my new BFG 6800 OC from BB.....
After spending two days crawling the internet trying to find a fix, I finally nailed it....
History (tried & didn't work)...
Thanks Mark, I will try that tonight....on a side note, I fixed my freezing, pausing issues with my card last night by lowering the core speed back down to a 10 Mhz overclock (360), but was able to push the memory to 800+. Finally got 10,000+ in 3DMark03!
I have a question for you gurus out there....
I HAVE searched for this answer with no avail...
I recently unlocked all pipes and additional VPU without artifacts using the new riva tuner and have had freezing issues with BF DC, 3DM03 & 05. So I did some research and found that most people had...
Sounds to me like another option would be to spend another hundred$ for the GT, get double the memory, get faster memory and have DDR3 to boot....then mod/overclock it to ultra speeds, and possibly beyond...?
