thanks to both of you BUT I was able to fend off the Norton BEAST on my own!!!
for some strange reason it would let my uninstall it unlike it was before
Hi guys. Right now I'm just sick and tired of my Norton 2004 Internet Security Professional. I tried uninstalling it (with ADD/REMOVE) and basically it wouldn't let me cuz it ran into "fatal errors" and such. I'm trying to figure out how to manually uninstall it. I google it and find out that...
So I bought the KDF-E42A10 and it looks great with the 360.
But When I hooked it up to my comp (DVI to HDMI cable), the TV overscans a little bit on all 4 sides of the computer image
I was told a while ago to make a custom resolution of 1176x664. I tried that but I literally...
ok thanks a lot guys
and IDversusEGO, I do respect what you have to say about Sony though. I know what they do with their proprietary DVDs :( but ya thanks for your concern too. I would get a samsung model but they dont make any LCD RPs that I know of. Plus this tv is extremely popular so I...
AWESOME :)
So is it plug and play. I'm a technical n00b.
So Morley, Do you game on it?
Like Doom 3, Quake 4, or Half-Life 2? If so how do those perform on the big screen?
yes cool. But do you suspect that I can just plug in and play? I mean I'm doing it now with my 27 16:9 LCD with no problem?
I just sont really want to search the web for certain programs to get the thing working.
I also agree with you about Sony and the whole trojan thing. It's wrong but the...
(very sorry. posted this same thread in the wrong forum a while ago)
Hey all!
I'm thinking about getting this TV for my Xbox 360.

I'd bee even more thrilled if I can conveniently hook up my PC to it. My PC's gpu is currently a BFG...

I'm sooo pissed. Building my comp was a bitch. It took about 3 weeks of exchanging shit to get it working. When I was finished it was perfect. BUT NOW!!!!! The damn onboard sound won't work! I've tried multiple pairs of headphones but no luck. No matter which ones I plug in, there is a faint...
Ok I just want to make this thread very simple.
I want to hook up my comp to a LCD RP via DVI. There is no DVI input in the RP tv I'm looking at, It just has an HDMI HDCP.
Can I use a DVI to HDMI cable to the TV from the comp?
and what can't I use HDCP with?
I was just told that it's a great performer. But I thought that the dedicated amp can take the place of the sound card you speak of. Can a 5.1 signal be carried through coaxial cables and RCA stereo cables too?
Actualy, let me redo all this.
What do I NEED to get a 5.1 signal to this amp...
I am gunna gut this pair of headphones for surround sound
http://reviews.cnet.com/Pioneer_SE_DIR800C_-_headphones/4505-7877_7-31225550.html
It has a dedicated amp that has Built-in DTS decoder, Dolby Headphone technology, Built-in Dolby Digital decoder, Built-in Dolby Pro Logic II decoder...
I while ago I installed the 7700 Cu version heatsink/fan on my 3800+ Venice and I didnt put the speed selector on it, I just ran 1 wire to the motherboard.
my question tho
What does it run at if there is no selector? high ? low?
thanks for reading
I forgot what kind of Sound card I needed to get.
I want an optical connection from my PC to an A/V reciever.
the thing is that I remember that there was something about the sound cards I had to look for that allowed me to to use a digital connection with games like Doom 3.
Ok heres my situation. By the end of this year I'm gunna hook up my PC and my Xbox360 and my DVD player to one LCD TV
I wanna take off the speakers and use a nice pair of headphones for all 3 sources.
It seems to me that the dedicated amp headphones are the way to go.
I know I will use...
I am very meticulous when it comes to simple stuff like this.
I have Norton Internet Security 2004 and when ever I shut down it has to end a program for a second or two. I was told if I end the process that the security wont work.
Does anybody know how to stop the task manager from closing...
I just finished my new build and was playing some Doom 3 on it.
Its CPU is idle at 30c and under load at 44c
these temps sound good?
also can the temps drop a degree or two due to the Arctic Silver hardening or does that not make much a difference?
It's a 3800+ Venice (2 days after I...
I just built my new system with an A8N SLI Premium mobo and I have a 2Wire wirless adapter connected to it thru a USB
when I try to connect it with the SBC Yahoo DSL CD it doesnt recognise the wireless modem (even though I typed in the right Serial code and encription key)
Can there be a...
Can someone explain to me how DVD upscaling is done on an HTPC?
is it done thru MCE or SageTV ect. or is it done thru Windows?
Can it be set so you dont have to upscale it before every DVD?
and what hardware parts do you need to upscale DVDs?
thanks
So Digital Sound cables can be used with video games huh?
So I just hook up the HTPC to an amp with toslink and after that everything would be using the amp (DVDs PVR TV PC GAMES ect.)?
I was told that I could use a toslink digital cable to transfer sound to my TV or an amp if I choose to get into heavy surround sound.
My question is Can you play video games with a digital sound cable?
I was told digital sound cables were meant for non-interactive stuff (like movies and...
I got an A8N SLI Premium with a 3800+ Venice
And I also have the 7700 Cu to cool it. I hear it weighs about 2 pounds
Is it ethical to mount that thing on a mobo that will stand vertically?
Well it just seems weird to me that there is a possability to cool my parts I have efficiantly( like really efficiantly) while silent. What stuff would I buy to keep the noise down?
Is it healthy for a comp to be left on? I got a Enermax Noisetaker 600w
And what does "over the air" mean...
ya I know what you mean but my comp is a gaming rig and it's so damn loud (should have mentioned that)
AH BUT A NEW QUESTION HAS ARISEN!
So what if I take my comp stuff (BFG 7800 GTX, A8N SLI Premium, 2 Gigs PC3200, 3800+ Venice) and put it into a HTPC case (and buy different cooling...
Simple question
I thought that DVI had nothing to do with Audio. I guess its different now.
I'm looking for a Samsung DLP TV with both an HDMI and a DVI input.
almost all of the ones I looked at have HDMI but only some have DVI Audio
Does DVI Audio mean that Audio is integrated into...
I plan on building an HTPC in 1 or 2 years from now.
But when the time comes I think I will have a gaming rig set up to my Samsung DLP (which I plan on getting) and a separete HTPC for PVR and high res DVD scaling.
Does it seem weird to any of you to have 2 rigs.
The reason is because I...
ya thanks
you answered it
now I just have to fork out the dough for a good DVD player
is a dedicated scaler generaly better than a scaler inside a DVD player?
thanks for all ur help
but when an image from the DVD is upscaled (with the special DVD player), does it look like a 720p or 1080i video or does it look as a normal DVD does (because it's on a larger screen)?
I was looking at the upscaling DVD players at cnet.com and they are at reasonable prices
120 dollars----200 dollars
they are reasonable IF they do what they claim to do.
Does anybody have experience with any of these types of DVD players?
can they really upscale the DVD resolution...
