Yeah I know about the sasser. I applied the fix before the message appeared. Though I think I sorted out the problem, updated to sp2 and applied all hotfixes including the one that microsoft did to eliminate the generic host error problem. Hope the error won't appear.

I use onboard sound and I have got only a single 1GB and put it in the slot according to the manual. Checked temps and are ~32C idle but I'll check them again.

I just built a new rig (specs in sig) and the only problem that I have is random shutdowns. Sort of I am working on it and suddenly it switches off by itself. Idle or busy the same happens. Do you have any idea what could be the problem? Thanks :(

Well that is actually what I did, asked a friend to download them and sent them to me on a usb stick. Everything fixed at last :)

Got my ASUS A8N-SLI Premium and was very happy with it. Everything booted up fine and got it running. Until I came to install the chipset drivers from the cd that came with the mobo. It won't run! Keeps spinning and stopping. Should I ask Asus for another one? :mad: :mad:

Btw did you check out the new enermax liberty? Doesn't have the looks of the hiper but still looks awesome + the way the cables are makes it better. Not mentioning it is one of the most reliable psus at the moment.

I would want quality over looks. That's why I chose Seasonic .. with sleaving it certainly looks good :) Anyways .. if you still want a good looking out of the box psu I would go for ocz. Hiper certainly looks nicer but ocz is of better quality.

Add Qtec to the list. They are shitty psu's.

Hi, my friend lately bought a gainward 6600 (Gainward PowerPack! Ultra/1780 TV-DVI Golden Sample) w/ Asus P4P800E-Deluxe. He can play alright but avi's never work well. The pc freezes and restarts automatically. Before he had a geforce mx 440 and worked well. Any ideas why this is happening?

I am looking forward to buy the maxtor maxline III. It has both NCQ and SATA II. But no cash at the moment :( Never had any probs with maxtor. Have hitachi and it is a bit noisy compared to the maxtor.

I just ordered a GTX now, preferred it than the GT but it's been 4 yrs since my last video card upgrade so for me it is worth it. I do not upgrade often but when I upgrade I choose the high end.

I also did a p4 1.8ghz keychain. It was a burnt p4 :( . I took me a bit of long time to take out all the pins since I don't have a dremmel. Time to buy one I think.
