World of Warcraft. All the way. You will not need to play any other game for th entire winter if you play this one :D But if you're not into MMORPGs, then I would definitely scope out Knights of the Old Republic. Very immersive, pretty big, and good replay value.

I played it for a while, just in campaign mode. The biggest difference between this and other RTS, IMO, is that this game is squad based rather than unit based. Pretty fun controlling the squads, a BLAST to build Dreadnaughts and watch as they pwn people. I had to update my RTS tactics...
