I sniffed a WPA handshake that is exactly the same as the BSSID (MAC) address of the access point.
With WPA password salting is it possible to choose a passphrase such that the salted hash will be the same as the MAC? Or is the only way to create a hash and then change the MAC address?
Anyone else have the problem where the screen goes black and says something like 'not optimum mode 1920x1080' ? I have to cycle the inputs or turn the screen on/off to fix it. Any ideas how to stop it happening?
The CM690 has a special place in my heart. I like how much it can fit in, yet how compact it is. It even holds more than my Lian Li PC-75 (currently 7 HDDs, 120mm rad, 60mm rad, double bay res). It's heavy though: over 20kg
I got the shelves from a local hardware shop. They slide on to...
Just completed the game and chose to destroy the reapers.
How does Shepard's interactions in chat affect the ending? Did it even matter when I chose 'red' chat options rather than the 'blue' ones? Also, what does reputation do? I'm almost at max reputation but haven't completed it yet.
lol the cloud servers on AZ2 all just went down, including the website.
Either that, or one of their routers to Europe went kaput.
[EDIT]: running processes stayed up so it looks like they're having some network issues.
Anyone want to help create a new minecraft world? I have no idea about admin/building spawns etc so I'm happy to let [H] do it and use the server as our own.
I had a spare machine lying around so the specs are: 100 slots, 16 GB RAM, 1 Gbps internet and minecraft on a RAM disk to make it load...
I have a 6990 and currently have 5 screens attached. If I purchase another 6990 will it let me attach another 5, so that I have a 10 screen desktop display? Could I do this in Crossfire or would they have to be separate?
Many people (like myself) leave one side panel off/have plexiglass window to show off the insides of their case - it also helps with heat management. Other than that it makes it easier when you want to access the back panel to insert USB etc but the main reason I do it is to show off my...

Currently on a 5 screen command center setup. Sorry for the poor lighting - I intentionally keep the room dark to stop screen reflections. I've got plans to add 5 more screens when I get my hands on another watercooled 6990.
What aperture did you shoot at? Looks like it's set too high, hence you get the 'spikes' where the light diffracts from your aperture edges. Try retaking it with a lower aperture (e.g. f12 instead of f4), will have to increase your iso and/or shutter open time though.
It's dual gigabit. I know someone who runs 600 slot counter-strike servers on single GbE though. Will add either a FC or extra NIC for FC storage/isci. Any recommendations on a cheap <$400 layer3 managed switch with 20 ports?
Thanks for the suggestions guys. You've convinced me to get a proper SAN.
How about something like this? My servers do not currently have fibre channel support so what sort of hardware would I need to get? Would I also need a FC switch?
As for the GbE switch, I'll try and find a refurbished...
Thanks for the input guys. After having a look at Dell outlet and eBay I managed to find some refurbished servers that end up being much more cost effective than a completely new build. However I still have problem with storage costs being high if I were to build a SAN.
For less than the cost...
Thanks for the help Blue_Fox. After spending time researching and digging around on the internet I decided to go with the new 16-thread Opterons as it makes for a more cost effective solution compared to Xeons of comparable performance. Since I will be virtualising the machine I've created a...
I'm building a server that will be co-located on a 1gbps/10gbps line and provide VPS/hosting/gameserver solutions as well as FTP servers/seedboxes (if there is redundant bandwidth).
Here's what I'm thinking of getting so far (going Opteron as it's cheaper than 4-way Xeons and not much worse)...
I was looking at SAS hard-drives but they are pretty expensive (more than double the cost of sata 2TB). The storage will mainly just be a dump anyway for FTP/torrents/images.
I think it may be better to go for two 2U units - one with the CPUs/ram and the other as SAN storage. Does scsi make a...
If I virtualise a machine in to two guest OSes, is it possible to plug two monitors/keyboard/mice in to the host machine and be able to game on both?
Is there any way to virtualise GPUs? What about dual GPU cards (e.g. AMD 6990)?
I'm building a 4U/tower for co-location on a 1gbps line. Which case I get will depend on what is cheapest and can accommodate my needs.
The server will be sliced up and resold as various hosting services with a lot of bandwidth being used. I'm looking for a minimum of 20 cores but the more...
Exactly. There are a lot of questions where the answer is some sort of 'trick' like this. It's not too helpful because the ability to come up with a solution isn't really correlated with creativity/problem solving ability. However, there is skill in avoiding the knee-jerk reaction answer; it...
Depends what time frame we're looking at. Since you said 'just passed' we can assume that it's in the instantaneous moment you pass second place. Since D(distance from second place car)/Dtime > 0 when we take an infinitesimal time-slice after getting level with the second place car we can deduce...
