    FS: 16x DDR3 RDIMMs $15 ea

Yeah, I don't have any use because I went a more silent route which meant ditching a traditional server. Bump for the New Year.

    FS: 16x DDR3 RDIMMs $15 ea

Don't post much nor sell much, but I have these lying around collecting dust and I figured I would post them before recycling. I have no way to test them other than to say they were in production servers before being pulled for an upgrade years back. They have since been stored in an antistatic...

    Looking for a Socket-462 (Socket-A) Heatsink

I think that big one was the one that came in retail boxes for Athlon 2400! I remember the purple stickers.

    Looking for a Socket-462 (Socket-A) Heatsink

No, I would say that wouldn't have been the case for one reason only: that exposed die. The tower cooler requires more clamping force to remain upright, and as you shrink that base down to an Athlon sized square, I cannot imagine the number of chips you might ruin from just bumping that cooler...

    Looking for a Socket-462 (Socket-A) Heatsink

It was a common thing to do. I remember reading all the info from Alpha and it always said to make it a draw through design. I decided to use a case with a side fan to exhaust the hot air.

    Looking for a Socket-462 (Socket-A) Heatsink

This is an old Akasa, but requires no extra hardware. You would just need to find a fan and the correct screw hardware to try it. Ebay Akasa Silver Mountain 2 NOT a heatsink to transport around though, as I just found this review with the weight listed...

    Looking for a Socket-462 (Socket-A) Heatsink

Alpha PAL8045 on the right vs the Thermal take Volcano 6 Cu+ on the left. I got it because it kept my box cool enough at stock speeds and quieter than others with the Y.S. Tech fan I chose. EDIT: Also note, the Alpha was a draw through cooler, pulling the air up and not pushing it down. The...

    Looking for a Socket-462 (Socket-A) Heatsink

These guys have given you some good info here. I used those mainly on Duron chips, but that's why I said to lap the heatsink for the best chance. I was in Starfalcon's boat, I ended up with the Alpha PAL8045 because I tried my buddy's DragonOrb. While it was cool with the Orb, it was an...

Yum! Ramen for Starving E-Gamers: 24-Pack 3-Oz Creamy Chicken Maruchan Ramen $5.76 @Amazon/Walmart

My man! In college when I had an hour to go from one job to school I would make the picante chicken ramen, drain the noodles, put in an egg, and turn the burner back on til it solidified somewhat. Quick and dirty, but I also didn't use all the seasoning packet. I ate so much of it I stopped for...
