What do you think? My heatsink is positioned horizontally so the hs fan is blowing upwards to the top of the case, and the rear fan is blowing in and across the hs fins..all the air being sucked out by the two 120mm Top fans exhausting.
case is a cm590 for reference, temps seem to be...
I am lowering my vcore to find the lowest stable voltage @ 3ghz 9x333, on a q6600. So far I've tested with prime95 small fft's for 9 hours stable at 1.23125, and again tested using blend. Ram is 555-15, 800mhz.
Currently I'm running at 1.20625, only had time for a 15 minute test to see the...
First overclock here, using a q6600. I've already turned off c1e, speedstep, setting pci-e freq. to 100, etc.
I have it set to 9x333 and the memory is running at 2.0 so 667mhz and 5-5-5-15.
A short prime95 run gave no errors.
Now for the CPU voltage it's set to 'Normal' and I'm guessing...
On the cooler master 590 and the 690 there is a vent directly behind the CPU area on the mother board for a thin fan to be added. I have a great little fan for the spot, originally part of a cpu cooler on a very old rig, and it's actually cooler master brand :cool:

I have a brand new 550vx from corsair and it makes a low buzzing noise, even when the computer is turned off (power supply still plugged in with switch on, but computer off).
Operates perfectly, just wondering if this might lead to a shorter life span etc. and if someone else with this power...
Core temp and CPU-Z give me a fluctuating voltage reading, what bios settings do i change to get my real vid?
I did go into bios and actually looked at the voltage there (1.22 ) is that an authentic measure?
