FYI, the A+ cert is actually 2 tests, Core Hardware and OS. Each test is ~$125. If you have a fair amount of experience, I would suggest getting Mike Meyers' A+ Certification Passport to round out your knowledge. Same with the Network+ exam.
Negated my ass.
His whole statment is negated by this-
What's so bad about them?
If you've ever seen BT perform his Laptop Symphony live, you wouldn't ask silly questions. He can put on a live remixing show with a Powerbook, mixer, and mini-keyboard.
On another note, just watch...
Sure.
I never said that it was going to be a faster solution, just a better one. I wasn't recommending the Power Mac for its hardware necessarily, but it does have the best audio and video production software available on the OS X platform.
Now I'm no Apple expert, but I was...
A couple reasons...
Also check out the specs and the studio gear.
Or if you wanted to start a little smaller, you can always check out Ableton Live.
Sure it's multi-platform, but if you've ever been in a professional recording studio, you won't see a Wintel box hooked up to the $30,000+...
I am not trying to thread crap, but you should get a Mac. ;)
Afterall, it is what BT, my favorite Electronic artist uses... :p
Seriously though, a LOT of professional multi-track audio recording/mixing is done on the Mac. It might be something to consider.
We shouldn' t believe what Steve Jobs says, but we should believe you?
Which multi-billion dollar company are you CEO of again?
Jobs is an innovator, and Apple as always been at the forefront of technology and design. I'm willing to bet that we are going to be very surprised...
There is a plethora of genres out there BESIDES first-person shooters. I really wish you "PC Gamers" and some of the dev teams would realize this and stop begging for and making such an abundance of cookie-cutter FPSes.
The guys over at Penny Arcade said it best... [ Link ]
Which OS are...
I guess we will have to wait and see if/what is hands-on playable at the expo and the big news sites report back on it. Once a couple of journalists get their hands on the actual software, we can put this question to rest. ;)
I don't know why everyone is so skeptical of the PS3's power and the demos Sony is showing. In their 2 hour press conference they made it perfectly clear that what was being demonstrated was in fact real-time. They stopped the demo, reversed it, moved the camera, zoomed in/out... Some people...
That's not entirely true. Think of consoles as "Trusted Computing", unless they have been modified, which the majority haven't, they WILL NOT run unsigned code. Consoles are a closed architecture, it would be virtually impossible for viruses to spread to your XBOX/PS3/Revolution.
Nope, I bought it from Babbage's (prior to the GameStop conglomerate) and it was the Panasonic 3DO FZ-1.
Edit: Perhaps I didn't purchase it at launch, but if my memory serves me correctly, and it usually does... but I certainly can't argue with the overwhelming evidence found on the internet. :p
I call B$ on this. I paid cash for my 3DO on launch day and it was only $400.
Edit: I just noticed that the figure was already rebutted. Too slow on my part! :p
But to actually contribute to this thread, I have to say that as a general rule of thumb, people have less and less free...
I read your entire post, I also didn't say you were flaming anyone. I was just stating that the point of rounded cables are to assist with keeping the inside of the case tidy to enhance airflow. But if Alienware systems are built using their own cable management techniques, then who cares...
Who cares about rounded cables? With SATA being primarily used for everything now, the only IDE devices you *might* have in your system would be optical drives. Besides, Alienware system builders use the "art" of cable folding to keep everything inside very neat and tidy.
To the OP...
You guys are such non-believers... Ridge Racer V, a PS2 launch title, is only 675mb on a DVD which we all know is 4.7GB.
Since then there have been advances in both data and audio compression...
Anyone remember the original Ridge Racer for PS1? That game ran from system RAM! You could...
They offer Intel and ATi as well, just not for the Star Wars edition PC.
On a side note, there was already another thread relating to Alienware's marketing of build vs. buy. Let's not hijack this one as well.
Like it was said earlier; if you don't like it, don't buy it. This...
The joke is that they are saying that M$ is going to copy everything in Tiger and put it in Longhorn. So by looking at Tiger, you are seeing what Longhorn is going to TRY to be. ;)
Here are some more burns against M$. [ Link ]
Silly rabbit, it doesn't cost $5000. Sure you could configure one to be that expensive, but the default configuration only costs $1500.
You guys need to lay off the Haterade.
The truth is, Valve was required to keep the price of the Steam version the same as MSRP as to avoid unfair competition between them and their publisher. Now that Vivendi is out of the way, it is only logical that the price of the Steam version will come down.
Hey, just a quick question...
Does anyone have a link to the fake ad that was made for the "super l33t" graphics card that was a comination of all of them? I tried searching here and on Google... but I keep coming up empty. :(
Thanks!
Also with WinRAR you can select to "keep broken files", which might help as it will technically extract everything but you can still try to access the files and see how bad the corruption is.
