Hmm, that hardly seems as outrageous as that one report claimed (about 105C iirc). Looks like you were able to OC decently too. I guess I'll still be on track to purchasing one whenever they get back in stock.
On a side note, I love you guys. Thanks Porter_ :)
Anyone here able to confirm or deny the report on hotter VRM on the XFX 7970 BEDD? Losing the double lifetime warranty peeves me and I really wouldn't want to keep some [supposedly] ridiculously hot components like that in my machine...
Exactly what I was thinking. Then again, if you're the type to give them an iPhone, I guess you're probably not going to care he does with it anyway (or even see that article).
I was gonna ask, what's there to price match if all the prices are the same or even more? I've been there a few times since the announcement and it's just ridiculous still. What's sadder yet, the poor bastards buying the TVs think they're getting a good deal. 10% OFF?! IT MUST BE GOOD
Sorry for the double post but I don't see a way to edit mine.
The commenter also says to remove two connectors: you only need to remove the right one. The left one is for the control wheel. google a guide imo.
One of the gizmodo commenters mentions opening it up and temporarily removing the battery power. Just did it and it's working alright so far, though some other commenters also say it's temporary. So if you're really impatient, you can try that; also cleaned some pocket lint out of mine. :S
Yeah, I used Adobe Reader 5 for a long time, then someone mentioned Foxit and I switched immediately. Haven't looked back. I can still see this feature being great outside your own PC though, of course.
Seems like they artificially slowed down the videos to match either other, so as far as performance goes it's impossible to tell who's better. I did watch the video on the right standalone before, and isn't that kind of physics work already available without PhysX? And without slowdowns, of...
While I don't count rebates towards my initial savings, it's still damn nice to get some money back later on (I mean, I basically got paid $5 to take Corsair's memory once). Kinda sad if this goes the way of the dinosaurs, but I guess it won't be too bad. Then again, NY getting taxed online... ;_;
Bluetooth isn't working in 8.10, and that's both my keyboard and mouse. ;_;
I also had the I/O problems in the 8.04 version of Kubuntu (x64), so I guess that hasn't been fixed yet.
I know it's just a design for the hell of it, but it's gonna need to remove a ridiculous amount of friction to be useful. Not to mention you'll have both hands on for extra force.
Sorry, I had a physics quiz earlier. D:
