Damtheman, I don't see myself going to dallas anytime soon but if I do I'll keep that in mind.
I don't exactly remember where I got the molding but it was an online modding store like frozen cpu or voyuer mods. I'll try to look it up when I get home. To mount the window I used velcro to make...
I have an Iaudio x5 for sale for 240.00. These retail for over 300. Its in very good condition except for some minor razor cuts that arent noticiable at all on the black finish it has. Last time I used it it held a charge for 8 hrs+.
Here are the pics.
Heatware is under fanatik 37-0...
Well looks like I'm done with this cooler. No longer needed. I'm going to have it for sale pretty soon on the forums but I thought I'd give you guys first dibs. I'm gonna sel it for $50 + $5 shipping. Lmk if you guys are interested. Heatware is under fanatik.
That crossflow fan is open on two sides to suck air in and exhaust it out. So if you mount it outside you'll have one side facing outside the case which won't work.
Another idea I had was to get a slim 120mm fan and mount it underneath the hs and so I would have two 120mm fans on it. I'm...
Well guys I decided to expreiment a little bit. I wanted to see if that 80mm fan on the psu was the reason for my high temps. It somewhat is. I took out my psu and put it on the table and installed that 120mm fan on the NT06. It actually dropped my temps 6c. Load temps only hit 60c. Here are...
$50 AR antec modular 500w psu. What else could you ask for? This looks like a great name brand psu for cheap and its modular.

Try asking here. Theres a lot of shuttle owners there but I believe that you dont have to use a mobo from that specific model. Just make sure its a mobo from a shuttle that had the same case design and believe me there were quiet a few models designed around that case style...
No it doesn't. I think that's why my temps are like that. I'm going to try and buy a psu with a 120mm fan and see if it makes a difference. I read in the review they used an antec truepower 430w. It looks like that psu only has a 92mm fan.
The crossflow fan won't work with the nt06. The nt06 is too big and takes up a lot of space behind the case. I don't know if I'm going to stay with the nt06. 66c is a little too hot for me. I might watercool but I'm not too sure since this is only a temp case for the case I'm modding meanwhile...
Actually I did use as5. I might run the tests again. I didn't get a chance to mess with it yesterday so I'll try the tests again but I'm not sure when I'll have time. Hopefully tonight.
You are right about the noise. Its much quieter than having the zalman fan on high.
Well I got it yesterday and it wasn't what I expected. My temps with the zalman 7000 were: cpu idle- 51 cpu load-66. When I added the tape on the back it made no difference to my temps. When I added the crossflow fan my temps dropped 2c for both idle and load. Here is the not so good news. When...
Nice info there D-Three. I don't have the fx121 but I own an AMS ecube and it uses the same crossflow fan. I took it out my ecube a while back when I modded my ecube. Good thing I keep everything. :D Now I can use it back there. It fits perfectly. So if you guys want you can just buy a generic...
I also got one on order it should be here by the end of the week. I got mine from www.sundialmicro.com They shipped it the same day I ordered it. Sweet! Right now I'm using an all copper 7000 and I'm getting temps in the mid 50s for idle. Hopefully I'll see a drop in temps like sudhian did. I'll...
One thing I do recommend is using like 4-5 layers of painters tape to protect your case when cutting. Especially if you are using a dremel. Trust me.
To finish the edges all you need is a file. They sell some that are flat on one side and curved on the other. Just use the curved side to...
It depends on how thick the aluminum is. My v100b for example uses thick ass aluminum and snips wouldn't work. I would use a hole saw. For shuttle cases you could probably use tin snips or nibblers since those cases are pretty thin but not lian li cases.
First I would like to thank Sheldog23 for hooking me up with some brushed aluminum vinyl. This was way faster and easier than trying to sand and get that brushed look on the psu.
Here are the pics. First the sheet of vinyl.
finished the top piece
All put together. I really...
What you can try is adding a nozzle for heatguns that concentrates the heat to a smaller point so that you can get the acrylic to the melting point so it polishes. I've seen these nozzles around but you'll have to find out what heatguns it works with. You can get a butane torch real cheap...
Hey, what do you know its an update. :o :D
Sorry for the lack of updates. I got tired of working on this project and took a break. Here is a minor thing I did today but changed the look of the pc. I decided to go with a different spray paint for the frost than what I initially had. I went...
I had an order of $300+ shipped to me to the states from alphacool.de with no problems. It took a while but it got here. I think it took two and half weeks.I would do business with them.
The word "Duh" comes into my head. :p
Don`t mean to sound rude but who wouldnt want more choices in the Matx mobo market. You would have the only board out there and the market locked down.
They are only going to be $20. Hey your psu was already free. You'll have a $20 psu if you buy them. They are worth it imho. Much easier to route your cables than those anaconda cables the xconnect comes with. Anyways gl with it and post pics of your finished machined.
CRaZYMoFo, you are going to have a hard time fitting that psu in the qpack. I have that psu and I`m about to install it in an SG01. Those wires are hard to bend. What I`m going to do is wait for the wires that the X2 uses. THey are soon going to be available for sale seperatly from the X2 psu...
Is the difference between the ddc and the pumps you mentioned the tops? I have the clear tops for sale if that's what you need. Pm if you are interested.
I did the psone screen mod and its not hard. Its a little time consuming but its cheaper than the screens you mentioned. Those liliput and xenarc screens range from 250-400. That's expensive. The psone screen costs 40 and a cheap video card for 40. So the whole mod costs less than 100.
I'm building an matx system and I'm using the SG01 and I love it. Its a beautiful case with awesome build quality. I've heard that temps run higher in this case but nothing a little watercooling won't take care of. :D
