Did some of my own digging around and you're pretty spot on. My SLI's are both cooled with closed loop coolers (antec 620's I think) so noise isn't particularly an issue but I'll be glad to get rid of the extra heat dump in the room and it will certainly help when I game on the 1600p monitor...

Throw an inline resistor in and you should be able to get them down to 800rpm np. Unfortunately that will prohibit you from turning them up to full speed without removing the resistor. If that's not a concern though, it's a pretty easy solution.

I always use http://www.svc.com/sfm-1000.html with all case fans. The GT's need them a lot less than other fans, but I'm a silence freak so I try not to cut any corners ;)

They are QUIET. I've never heard a more quiet 120mm fan and am extremely sensitive to noise. It's not only the decibel level, the noise signature is simply way less annoying to the ear.

Are either of your monitors 120hz? For some reason nvidia cards refuse to downclock all the way unless you set the refresh to 110hz on 120hz monitors.

The 560-448's are supposed to be a limited run so those of you hoping to SLI them in the future may be out of luck. But who knows.
