I'm using memtest86+ and after about 10 passes, I'm getting test #1 and test #7 errors. What do this errors mean?
I've been to the OCZ official forums first thinking it was my memory, but they seem to be suggesting that it is more in line with the CPU. Also, I'm starting to believe them...
Ok, I found the problem and I can reproduce it consistently now. The problem is when the computer goes to sleep after a set amount of time.
Vista does some odd things when making the computer go to sleep. Like underclocking my processor and stopping the CPU fan. Luckily, it spins back up...
Well.... the thing is that a simple restart fixes the problem. I installed MBM after this started happening. So I have the feeling that somehow, vista is enabling Cool 'n Quiet somehow, even though I have it disabled in the BIOS. And somehow slowing the CPU down is actually making my...
I have no idea about it turning the CPU fan speed down... MB monitor is acting strange in Vista. It's reading my CPU fan speed between 1600 and 32000. But most of the time it stays between 9000 and 12000, which I know is wrong. That was working fine in XP.
Edit: Also, I know that it's...
Yeah, I was just checking that. I have it disabled. I also found this other option called thermal throttling and I already had that disabled as well. Can windows vista somehow be overriding this?
Edit: I forgot to mention that simply restarting makes the temperatures goes back down. I find...
I just recently installed Vista 64 on my computer which I built about a year ago. The motherboard is a DFI Lanparty NF4 SLI and I have a 4400+ processor running at 2.4GHz(11x220) stable. My temperatures are 29 degrees idle and 41 load.
Now my problem is that if I leave my computer idle...
I have an Athon X2 4400+ at 2.52Ghz.
Timedemo: Necro666
Resolution: 640x480
Quality: High
without smp: 104.1 fps
with smp: 159.8 fps
That's around a 53.5% improvement in performance!
I usually play at 1280x1024 in widescreen mode, since I have a dell 2005fpw and they don't have...
Yeah, i'm very happy that I finally have a stable system again... no crashes for a while now, thanks again, I'm very sure it was the ethernet drivers now.
I have tried running memtest86, underclocking, upgrading to a 600W power supply, and my computer randomly freezes. It seems to happen more often while playing games. But it still happens when I'm just browsing the web or reading hardforums. There are no blue screens or anything, I wish there...
I've looked everywhere and I can't find anything about this problem. There are many programs that I use that run in Direct3D windowed mode. The problem is that when anything with tranparency (menus, other transparent windows, start menu transitions... etc) is used, it makes the frame rate drop...
In the catalyst control center there should be an an option under displays. I don't have them so I can't tell you specifically. The option should be something about playing "overlay content" in TV.
I live in the USA and i prefer Celcius over ferenheit, it's easier when comparing temperatures with the rest of the world... I think USA is one of the only country left that doesn't use the metric system... we should switch already!!!!
I'm surprised that nobody has suggested to run a virus scan or a spyware scan. Also, try disabling other parts of your computer... For example, try taking out your soundcard, CD/DVD-rom drive, floppy drive and see if that makes a difference. Usually disconnecting the IDE cable is enough. Try...
UPDATE 2: I ran 3Dmark 05 with those settings and i'm getting 6219, which is very good in my opinion, and the temperatures never went over 60 C, so i'm satisfied.
Yeah, they are... why am I lucky? it seems that they are close to the same that everybody else is getting for the AGP... well, anyways, I just installed the VF700 with AS5 and my idle temperature stayed at 39 C and the load temperature went down from 67 C to 62 C. I'm going to try to run ATI...
I just bought the X850XT and I bought a VF700... I haven't installed the VF700 yet because I'm worried that i'm going to mess up the the temperatures. Right now on stock cooling using ATITool, I'm getting a max of 67 C during heat up phase at 577.80 Mhz. It didn't start artifacting until it...
That means that it doesn't have a built HDTV over the air tuner. I saw the specs on that TV and it appears to have component inputs which is what is going to be necessary for the XBOX 360 if you want to play in an HDTV. So no, you are not going to need a set top box to play with your XBOX 360...
I have a 2005fpw. I set my background to white and no matter how hard I look, I don't see any scanlines anywhere on my monitor. Have you tried it in another computer?
You should try it on another computer and see if you still have the same problem, or maybe if you have an old graphics card lying around, you could try that too.
There was one pixel that didn't seem quite right in my 2005fpw which was fixed by rubbing, but i don't think it was dead. I was never able to fix the backlight leakage on my 2005fpw though by rubbing it, although, it did even out after 3 weeks so the leakage is not as notisable anymore.
