For some reason it really made me smile to see you post a new review, I wasn't expecting it.
I wish you the very best in your new endeavor, good luck and I hope it's as much fun as you think it will be! :)
The MX518 was a fine mouse, but I would argue that the MX Revolution was their finest mouse. I've been using a G700 then G700s when the 700's switches inevitably died, ever since the Revo I can't live without hyperscrolling on my mouse and at least a dozen buttons.
I always liked Ryan, he's always been a straight shooter. Good for him, best of luck to him and PCPer...which I think will do pretty well without him. He seems to have been disengaging himself from the day to day stuff for a while now and he's got good people in place there.
Best of luck to...
Damn it, I was really hoping it was someone connected to Cheat Central! I've been down on them for years now since they went to their subscription model and I got in to an argument with a mod and got my lifetime account banned for life. :|
Still, I'd love to see online cheating punished more...
I've been getting that call at least 3 times a week and it cracks me up HARD every single time!
"Please have the person using windows operating system call number to talk to system administrator..."
One of these days I think I'll call 'em back just to see what they say, mebbe even set up a...
Wouldn't it be interesting if they adopted all the open standards that AMD supports/provides? It makes a whole lot of sense to me, and I have a feeling the new GPU division is thinking the same way.
What better way to bork over nVidia while taking advantage of the already built in support...
Damn it, I thought I HAD checked it. My bad.
If I had only checked the news page I would have known even faster.........right! ;) :P
Sorry though, really was my bad. Would you believe I'm rusty at forumming? LOL Thanks Kyle, feel free to nuke this thread. The post is pretty much just for...
Edit by Kyle: If you read the news page, you would have known a lot quicker. ;)
Not sure where to put this, but Chris Hook announced today that he starts at Intel tomorrow as marketing-something-something director! :D
Wasn't sure where to post this since I can't recall the last time I...
Y'all realize what this really is, don't you? You recognize the importance and significance of this moment?
This is Chris Hook's final campaign he put together for AMD, the very last one. So far I love it and hope it has some real legs to it and goes long, hard, and well.
Just thought I'd...
No clue, HATE financial stuff. Makes my brain hurt.
All I know for sure is that I did see the dotcom crash coming as well as the junk bond crash, people kept telling me I didn't understand enough about finances to get it but I figured I did know enough about common sense and what was going...
The only reason I've ever had an interest in mining was so that I could form a corporation or some LLC type thing where I could write off any hardware/losses. The idea of being able to write-off hardware PC and deduct 'em from our taxes has been a long held dream of mine.
Sorry, just enjoying...
Is GPP the problem or a symptom of a bigger problem? What is nVidia so scared of that would make them do that?
I've been asking myself this one and it has a lot of really interesting answers. Think about how poorly the Vega did, what Lisa Su did to Raja, and the current situation over at AMD...
What few ones that exist in this country are poorly enforced. The power is on the sides of the corporation and not the whistle blower. :(
I LOVE the colours!
I don't know what would have happened, but I wish I could have found out. (I still miss ATi, alright? )
Been bouncing around the...
Just because it was screaming in my brain the whole time I was reading your posts trying to catch up on this thread I wanted to mention that the way AMD found out about this might not be legal, or at least they might not be able to use it as evidence to get an injunction without incriminating...
I don't mean this argumentatively, but what drives you isn't necessarily what drives the market. Also as big as the mining craze is, it is not at all stable or reliable. Who knows where it'll be in a year or two from now, or who's gear will mine best if mining is still even a thing?
I think...
My wife bought a socket4 Packard Bell back in the 90s and it was my introduction to the world of modern computers since my last which was a VIC-20 or an Apple IIe, I feel your pain on that one. I think owning that machine made me become the geek I am today in a way though since it was such a...
Is it alright if some of us have a healthy bit of skepticism about if nVidia uses the GPP as a force for good in the gaming community rather than as a cudgel to keep AIBs and OEMs in line with until we see how it pans out?
Sorry, I just have had a bit of experience with nVidia and their PR dept...
Oooh, can I have the link to that? I bet it explains everything and this is all just one big silly misunderstanding that AMD planted/rigged/set-up to try and make nVidia look bad when all they have is the very best of intentions to the gaming community to help it grow and prosper.
Can't WAIT to...
I thought it was good and pretty concise background color which added perspective to it. Also Kyle is a journalist but [H] is his home and a lot of members are like family and he tends to write to them rather than just a general audience, it's a characteristic and charm about online hardware...
Hey it's a good thing that they did that imho, as long as they link to the original article and credit the source fully it's all good. Personally I'm glad they put something up, it'll help this story spread and I'm pretty sure that was Kyle's point in writing it. ;)
Besides, it's Jason...he's...
I can, but it was a long time ago and I think they've more than made up for it since then. Again, a great piece and it took some serious balls to do it...plus I guess I was wrong and I DID live to see the day Kyle went full out against nVidia. Kudos.
Does that second "B" stand for "Burke"? If...
I keep hearing people talking in this thread like the problem with current video card prices/unavailability is a lack of GPUs to make them with. I didn't think that was actually much of an issue for either AMD or nVidia right now, I thought the big problem was price/availability of memory to...
Sounds like a heavily enforced GITG under a new name and with "transparent" contracts so it's not like they're getting paid under the table, they're just getting screwed and screwing gamers by participating in it. :(
Great article Kyle, looking forward to seeing where this goes. :)
Is it really all that shocking that this holiday has been going on for 18 years and I have never heard of it until today? (I don't always keep the tidiest PC... ;) )
