I am in the same situation and I am just about ready to go with 2011v3. If it were 1 year ago, the choice between 1150 and 2011v3 would make me lean towards 1150 mainly due to the cost of DDR4. But now that DDR4 has somewhat normalized since Skylake has arrived, the cost difference between 1151...
Less than 3 week old Asus GTX 780 Ti DirectCU II OC for sale
Used it in a system for a brief time but due to the size of my case (Corsair 250D) I was less than thrilled with the amount of heat being output into the case with nowhere to go. So I'm going to be reverting back to my trusty 680 in...
I'm not threadcrapping, but seriously stop whining. The card has been out since earlier in the year. It would be one thing if the card was just released now at $999 and people bought it before seeing what AMD had but those that bought it when it was first released and now are complaining that...
The point of the R9 280x in general is lower price. Base model is $299. As for the Asus model, probably just keeping up with the product line. I'm interested to see if performance differs from the 7970 model since the clocks seem slightly lower.
EDIT: Okay, I just did some searching and with...
I am waiting for the R9 280x. Despite being a rebadged 7970 GHz Edition, it does come at a much lower starting price of $299. The Asus ROG edition which is overclocked a bit more will be around $349. Not bad considering its closest competitor is the GTX 770 and that is $399.
I know you asked for $100 headphone recommendations. But I'd like to throw in a mention of the Philips Fidelio X1. They are currently running for $250 on Amazon. These retailed at $399 earlier in the year. These are really good all-arounders. Good bass, nice mids, decent highs.
And they are...
I would be willing to bet the reason for the astronomical price is they are playing the card that it cost them a lot in R&D to get the enclosure small enough to fit everything.
Anyone know if these can stream 1080p mkv (specifically BluRay rip) without choking? I've been eyeing the ID81 but not sure if the Celeron is up to par.
Not to mention the power savings that come with going to a 22nm chip.
Interesting to note about the encoding speeds. I am currently using an i7 920 and was going to upgrade to IB but since Haswell is not that far off, looks like I'll be holding out just a tad longer.
The GTX 680M is still a Kepler part. The 680MX just puts it more on par with a full fledged GTX 670/680 desktop part since the 680M is a heavily underclocked 670.
Is there any reason why you choose to use Monster brand surge protectors? They do seem terribly overpriced for what it does.
Also, a UPS doesn't only protect the computer in the event of a power outage. There are some with Pure Sine Wave output which corrects "dirty" power into a power that an...
Also, I'm quite impressed with how the game doesn't look as much of a console port as GTA4 did at launch. Although I'm rocking a GTX 680 so that could be why.
Although I did not buy the GTX 670 SC, their generosity in upgrading customers to as higher spec model for free proves that EVGA is the best. This makes me glad I went for their GTX 680.
This is a great show. It's hosted by Veronica Belmont (of Revision3's Tekzilla) and Brian Brushwood (Magician extraordinaire). Also of mention, the show definitely gives PC Gaming a decent amount of love since most of the other gaming podcasts revolve around consoles.
Why would we complain about a card that is going to be using less power than the previous generation? Unless it absolutely fails in performance, it shouldn't matter how much power it is using in relation to price.
This is still going on? Ummm....the reason they didn't show up when you reloaded into an empty server was BECAUSE THERE WAS NOBODY IN THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!! Clearly they show up when lots of explosions happen. And when you are in a game for 30+ minutes, of course that stuff will show up.
Wow, I wasn't sure if you were being serious. Yes those are what stays behind when an explosion goes off. Obviously whatever object caused it disappears, but the mark stays.
Not sure what time it is going to be at because it looks like Steam is having a Free Weekend of PAYDAY, but it ends at 1PM PST on Sunday. I guess the free part would be good for those on the fence. I still highly recommend this game though!

It looks half decent for an entry level gaming PC for someone coming from the consoles. That being said, what really kills it is the weak external powerbrick. Unfortunately with the Power being limited to 330W max., you won't be able to put anything higher than a GTX 560 (non-Ti) or Radeon 6870...
