Maybe post some photos of your setup? Sounds like you may not have things configured right. You may have to spend more time researching, fixing and patching games to run and look properly. Usual multi-monitor fun :D
I know it gets old, I have a few friends with 3+ monitors and they are always...
It's becoming a well known now that thinner designs are usually made at the cost of image quality. There are good threads on the subject at many of the audio and videophile enthusiast home theater forums around the net.
Every thin monitor or television I've ever seen has had more issues than...
I've had the 27" version of this monitor here for a few days. Unfortunately the back-light bleed is present along with many dead and stuck pixels.
I forgot to add, when I opened the box and inspected the panel there were smears, rubbing type marks, scuffs and glue type stuff on the...
I don't have time these days to watch/play betas to see what DRM is being implemented and I don't beta test games for rich companies for free anymore, that's just goofy. None of the reviews I read mentioned it either.
So yeah I guess I was not paying attention
Oh another thing only...
Just a heads up this game will not run in single player or multiplayer mode without Steam AND Games for Windows Live both running at the same time in the background. I tried to play tonight and could not because the Steam CD check servers were overloaded.
This bug was around for most of last year now it's back. My temps jumped almost 15-18 degrees at idle. Before if you ran FirMark or other full screen 3D app/game the bug would resolve until reboot. Not this time.
This is running under Vista64 I have not bothered with XP32 yet.
In other news...
What do you mean? I just looked up if Area51 is closed and all I found was references to a bad article from Popular Mechanics which has been seen as very badly researched.
Seems it's still open as far as I can tell.
Just wondering what is the fastest and latest CPU's that will work on the 965P-DQ6 rev 3.3?
un-officially of course :)

will the Q9550 work? The QX9650 is priced for fools only.
This is a bit concerning though. The reason they haven't been big supporters of Blu-Ray so far is because the feature set of HD-DVD was better, this is also the reason some big Warner Movies haven't been released on Blu-Ray yet (ie. Batman Begins, Matrix, etc).
Warner apparently loved the IME...
Two companies a Hate with a passion. EA and Sony. I never buy any of their stuff.
Think I'll be skipping over this generation of HD and wait for the next one on Flash ROM media or something. 50BG disks are not even Next Gen to me..I want 1T portable media :)
There are going to be alot of...
Users have come across a problem with the Geforce 8800 and xx cards. So far NVIDIA nor any PSU maker has given an official statement. It seems to (maybe) be a problem with faulty transistors on the 88xx cards and/or combination of popular PSU's that cause the cards to squeal at shutdown (low...
Got this email from a friend who works at Samsung.
This is a real insider and good friend known him for years.

Yeah things are getting interesting again...
Revision 3.3 of the Gigabyte 965P-DQ6 supports 1333FSB.
The DQ6 rev 3.3 only supports DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 memory.
If I put DDR2 1000+MHz/PC28000 like Mushkin XP2-8500 Xtreme memory or faster in the DQ6 will that in theory improve an OC? Do I need 1Gb memory to run in sync mode 1 to1?
So far ok monitor as far as LCD's go..
The only problem I'm having so far is the monitor will not come out of standby-power saving mode when the PC is turned on. I have to press the power button off/on. It will not come out off standby mode even when the PC is on but has powered down the...

I got a response from Carmack:

Our specular function isn't a POW function, it matches the bias / scale calculations done on the NV10/NV20/R200 paths.
This of course explains why it doesn't...
