I know it's still pretty early and most people have not even finished downloading the beta. However, for those who have been playing, I'm curious if you feel that the game has or has not lived up to the hype and expectations. Any one have suggestions on what should be added or removed? How does...
I am eagerly awaiting the BF deals to trickle in so I can plan out a new HTPC/Server; and in the spirit of [H]ot deal discussions, wanted to know what kind of new toys some of you were hoping to snag on Black Friday. :D
I need some help cleaning up my code and making it cross browser compatible and optimized. If anyone who has lots of experience doing this and is willing to help, I would be happy to pay that person for their time.
I am going to test a script that requires that register globals be off and that the memory limit be set at least 16M. Well my host has register globals on by default and memory limit of 40M (not a problem with the memory).
So i created a custom php.ini and placed it in the root directory of...
I have a strange and frustrating problem with a potential spyware/malware problem. I've run multiple virus/spy/malware scans and X-Cleaner keeps detecting the "soundbot" worm, also known as W32/Polybot.l!irc I should also mention that X-Cleaner doesn't acutally say W32/Polybot.l!irc is what it's...

I recently acquired a Zalman CNPS9500 AM2. I've been using an XP-90 on my Asus A8V Deluxe (939). After looking at the installation movie from Zalman's site and looking at the included parts I don't know if it will sit securely on the mobo without screws. I have the stock mobo bracket. Can anyone...
Just a few quick questions. I am currently experiencing heat woes with my new 4600+ I recently "re-applied" the AS5 and used 91% Isopropyl alcohol to clean off the old grease. Now my first question is, can I do any damage using a q-tip and 91% to the heatspreader? The reason I ask is because I...
My new X2 4600+ idles around 51C. I applied the correct amount of AS5 using an XP-90, with the fan pointing down blowing air onto the cpu. I have a praetorian with the correct settings for the fans: 2 intake in front, top exhaust and rear exhaust. I'm not overclocking anything, I'm just...

I just don't know what to do. I've reapplied AS5 with my XP-90 to my Winnie 3200+ (twice). My idle temps are still 44C.
My vid card idles at 43C for an X800XL. Other temps are fine, just that CPU is starting to annoy me. Does anyone have any suggestions.
I'm not sure if my machine is running too hot.
CPU: Winchester 3200+ 939 Temp: 43C (XP-90)
Vidcard: X800 XL Temp: 44C/38C
I reapplied my AS5 last night, not sure if I used enough. Any thoughts?
Edit: These temps are at idle btw.
I was wondering if anyone had any tips on sleeving cables. My problem is that when I cut my sleeving and try to get it over the cables it'll start to unravel, and make it look really tacky. Any suggestions are welcome.
I just recently acquired an X800 XL (AGP), to replace an X800 PRO. I Installed the card, and the 5.8 cats. I get a problem with video corruption now. I've tried installing 5.7 and 5.8 cats using driver cleaner and still get the same problem. The monitor (Dell 2005 FPW) says cannot display in...
For some odd reason whenever I attempt to install any one or all of these updates my keyboard driver becomes corrupt and I need to do a system restore.
Has anyone else had any problems?

I get up this morning to do some computer related activities when I notice my screen is black. I figured it was just hung on something, and restarted. It seems that all my bios setting had all be set to default. So I go and adjust them all; when I get to another boot error. This boot error asked...
I need to replace my sister's video card, and I originally had a 9800 Pro in her machine. I want newer technology I was thinking about a 6600GT or something similar. Perhaps someone wouldn't mind telling me what would be a good ATi equivalent of a 6600GT?
Also who is the best manufacture for...
I'm wondering if the stock cooling is enough for this card (At stock speeds) or should I look into a VGA cooler, also would someone recommend one to me.
I'm not sure what is going on, I don't believe it's a cooling issue. I have a 9800 PRO 256MB, and in game and on the desktop I occasionally see some artifacting? Any suggestions on what might be causing this?
I just built a new machine, I put an Antec Neopower in it. I may be wrong, but the voltage seems low.
+12 -- 11.187
+5 -- 4.999
+3.3 -- 3.28
Vcore -- 1.456
I'm having some video problems, and wondering if I need to up my voltage.
Thanks for the help

I have a 80GB Seagate SATA drive on an A8V using the VIA controller. I was wondering how long does it normally take a drive to start getting fragmented really badly. I'm using Diskeeper to defrag my HDD. I've been testing a few things out, and analyzing my drives every few seconds. Anyway every...
I just finished building my new rig, Asus A8V and a 3200+ Winnie.
Anyway, I have a seagate 80GB sata drive connected to SATA1 (Non raid). having trouble detecting the hdd, any suggestions?
Great looking case, sturdy, and no sharp edges. Just an overall great buy imo. I do have a question though, for Praetorian owners. It's not a big thing, I'm just picky about things like this. But both the power and reset buttons on the case seem to "not sit" tightly in place. I can sort of move...
Running everything at stock speeds, which is the better board? Rather, which board will give me less inital problems.
The MSI board from what I hear runs smoothly with everything set for stock speeds, but gets anal when you try to OC anything.
The ASUS board from what I've read makes...
I'm sure this forum gets a ton of these every day, so let me hop on the bandwagon too.

I just bought an Antec True 430 PSU. I plan on sleeving, but I would like to test to make sure it's not DOA. What is the best, and safest way to do this? I really don't want to sleeve and then find out the PSU is fubar.
Also just a real quick "is this enough power to run my rig" list...
I plan on buying myself a new case and PSU tonight, and plan on sleeving the cables. However, I don't want to spend $10 on a molex kit just to get the remover, does anyone know where I can just buy the molex remove, or will something at home do the job?
