I have an old epox 8kda3j doing the same thing now. I've swapped out everything but the processor and after talking to epox I'm pretty sure it's the board.

I need a socket 754 board with AGP to replace a friend's epox 8kda3j that just died. Cost and reliability are the main concerns here, but overclocking ability would be a plus. I found a MSI K8N Neo V2.0 at computergeeks for about $50 shipped, any comments?

yeah, most stores (in general, not just bb) are open by 6am on bf, some as early as 4. i've even heard of stores opening at midnight for some reason that escapes sane minds

there's a thread on anand comparing the staples 920bw to the bb 931bw, and the general concensus seems to be the 931. 700:1 contrast and 2ms response with the 931, vs 500:1 and 4ms on the 920. Also, neither is listed on the samsung website, maybe they're other models rebadged?

i'd second the vote for a 6200 non-TC. the tc version iirc uses system memory instead of its own, which creates a huge bottleneck. the 5700 might be acceptable but from what i've seen don't bother with the 9250.

yeah, grab perfect dark and maybe q4 from walmart and sell everything for a good $700-$750 probably more in a week or two once people start really shopping

yeah just about all current vid cards have either an svideo or rca output on them. if you get one with an rca and it doesn't come with an adapter, get one from newegg/ratshack/whatever. just search newegg/zzf for the cheapest card you can find with a tv out

Is it possible to run a cell phone LCD off a serial port? I recently acquired a broken Nokia 3588i, but afaik the screen works fine. I was hoping to mount the screen on my case somewhere for a temp readout.

You won't really have to, but it wouldn't hurt. I have a gig in my current system, but I'm considering going with two for my next build (next summer most likely).
