I bought a couple of these off Amazon for the same price. Both packages had Windows 8 logos, yet one was an XT and one was a ST4000DM000. Both drives show warranty until 2015 on Seagates site. I think I'm okay with the 5900rpm drive, should run cooler and be plenty fast for my NAS.
It absolutely blows my mind to see these cable companies are moving BACKWARDS. Bandwidth requirements for legitimate purposes are going through the roof and they are enforcing archaic caps? I think this is more about an agenda to try and maintain their television subscriber base and prevent...
Hmm, when I first looked it was limit 5 per customer, now it is limit 1 per customer. I went ahead and placed 2 separate orders and they went through. Hopefully they ship both!
I've had the AOC-USAS-L8i for a little while and it's been working great. Obviously it was a bit of an awkward fit, but I got it working. I look forward to getting this card next for a cleaner fit and it also appears to be a bit cheaper. The mini-SAS to SATA cables make for a very clean install! :)
Definitely a much better deal than most other ringtone purchasing services. Unless I become a Billionare soon I still will not be paying $2 for ringtones.
While I do agree the price was dropped rather quickly, early adopters should expect this kind of stuff. This is the price you pay to live on the bleeding edge. I still think the $100 credit is a good move by Apple. No, they do not owe anyone anything, but this is going to be very good for...
This shit is getting so old. I love Vista but jesus. It wasn't long ago I came hom and my OS was mysteriously no longer activated. Another example of DRM fucking the people who actually buy their products.
Yep, they sure can and I sure do. However, I've never had any trouble with anyone who's supposed to come into my house not being able to come in. Also, I don't think the Lock Smith hid any weird in my closets when I was getting my locks changed.
QFT. I agree 100%. Personally, I can get over DRM as long as I can play the game. I get bothered when we start talking about hidden, difficult to remove applications being installed on my PC. Even if I did agree to it as lawguy said, I hate that I have to decide if it's worth having junk...
Well, I'm glad you don't give a shit about a company installing software on your computer behind your back. Specifically, one that prevents other legitimate software from running. Hopefully you don't work in IT Security. I'll agree that it has not caused me any direct problems. But it's there...
Wow, the sheep are rampant in this thread! I don't see how any "Power User" wouldn't be appalled at the Malware Bioshock loads on your PC. It's too bad I bought Bioshock through STEAM, or I'd be ebaying it right now.
The bottom line is, DRM and Rootkits like this do nothing but annoy...
I currently have an Areca 1210 4 Port RAID card. (4x750gb Seagates in RAID5) I am outgrowing this setup much faster than I anticipated. I am wondering if I could migrate this to an Areca 1220 or 1230 with my Array intact, or will I have to offload 2tb of data somewhere? Any input is...
If anyone has/gets one of these, please let us know what you think. Sounds like a great concept but there's so many things that might suck about it. (file navigation, output quality etc.)
I think it makes perfect sense, and it would sell very well. I love a 12-13" laptop personally (went from a 700m to my dead sexy MB), but there's plenty of folks out there who prefer larger screens and don't want to spend over $2,000 on a laptop. I think there's a lot more people who are...
My standard MacBook with a 2.0 C2D easily hit's 75c under load, haven't had any problems so far. Definitely seems like the norm from everything I've read. Either your temp readings are off, or something else is causing you to freeze.
My track pad looks like within a day of use. It's not wear & tear.... just skin oils. a microfiber cloth and some alcohol/ammonia free cleaning solution cleans it right up.
^ This man speaks the truth. There's *always* a better version coming out "soon" when it comes to tech gadgets or computers. Hell, if a new iPod does drop in 2 months, throw the one you buy now on ebay and you'll probably make a good portion of your cost back. Think of it as a long term rental...
Huge let down for me... Cingular Exclusive, yet no 3G support?! If this no 3rd party apps thing is true, I'm even more disappointed. I'll admit it does seem like it'd have most functions I need, but there's certain things I have to have on my smart phone (AIM and Skype for example). I'll stick...
Not to thread hijack, but for those of you for (or opposed) to 7200rpm drives. How much of a noise/heat difference does it make? Also, does it impact battery life? Thanks!
Unlikley to happen, but I am holding off on ordering my MacBook Pro until after the expo in hopes of higher resolution displays. With other companies offering 15.4" screens with 1920x1200 resolution, apple is really lacking in this department to me. The 17" sporting 1920x1200 and the 15"...
