As long as you aren't moving your computer around all the time, it will be fine. I definetly wouldn't use one on a LAN rig. Thought about making a brace to support mine, but it really isn't required. I still may do it if I get really bored. :p
I installed a hyper 6 with two coolermaster LED fans on my FX-53 last night. Working great so far. Load temp appears to around 44C @ 2664 based on the limited testing I did late last night.
Since the hold-down frame is designed for both P4 and K8, it will not work without modification on the A8V. The P4 mount boss at the upper left corner must be trimmed. It lays right on top of a resistor pack. I trimmed all four P4 mounting bosses so the sit only on the solder pads the...
I'm installing a hyper 6 tonight when I get home. I will probably make a support bracket to take the weight off the mobo that will attatch to the top of the hyper 6 and the cross brace under my PS. Maybe I will post some pics.
I have one and the locks do work. I've had it for a couple of weeks. See sig. My hyper 6 cooler should be in today. Hopefully I will have some better numbers that what the stock cooler is allowing. At least I hope that is the only thing holding me back. So far this board is very stable.
The green box is the old Rev 1.X wireless package
The white box is Rev 2 if it is the non-wireless edition and evidently still Rev 1.X for the wireless edition.
My Rev 2 (non-wireless) came in the white box.
See my sig. I haven't really got to see what the ASUS A8V can do yet, but my locks are functional. I'm still running on a stock cooler and trying to decide on what to buy
Anybody have first hand experience? Will it fit? I haven't found any info yet other than the blank table on thermaright's site.

Well, I'm not 100% positive as the rep at zipzoomfly could not verify it as rev.2, but he said they came in yesterday and this post straight from ASUS on the 13th says yesterday was the day of release for the rev.2 boards.

I just cancelled my pre-order with Monarch. Tired of waiting. The main reason I was going with the MSI is the working locks, but since the Asus A8V Rev 2 has working locks too, I just ordered the ASUS. I did however find out that Monarch is getting the first 50 MSI boards in today and more...
