I'm looking to build a new PC in the next month or 2 as mine's now over 4 years old (current stats in my sig). It will primarily be a gaming rig while serving 2nd duty for movie playing onto my TV. I've decided to go with an Ivy Bridge chip (namely the 3770k) as, while i like the SB-Es with...
my current setup is now over 4 years old so ive gotten the itch to upgrade. primary duties are gaming and video watching. i cant decide which route to go regarding the core components.
current setup:
Motherboard: ASUS P6T Deluxe
CPU: i7 920 OC'd @ 3.2Ghz
cooler: ThermalRight Ultra-120...
so my current setup is this:
i7 920
cpu bclk: 160
DRAM: 1604 (9-9-9-24)
DRAMv: 1.65
CPUv: auto
everything else auto giving me a stable OC of 3.2Ghz (primed for over 5 hrs)
my cinebench R10 (x64) score for xCPU rendering aren't breaking 15300
is there something amiss here or is that...
ok, so got my new system up and am ready for OCing but would love advice/have some questions.
first the system specs:
coolermaster 690
antec SG850 850W
core i7 920 + thermalright ultra-120 1366 RT
asus p6t deluxe
corsair 6GB XMS3 DDR3 1600 (3x 2GB) 9-9-9-24
2x BFG GeForce 280 OC
2x WD...
After building my new rig in ~2-3 weeks, i plan to sell my old one. question is what do you guys think would be a reasonable price to ask for it? obviously its not the newest gal on the block but it can still pull its weight with 19" monitors (just isn't as good now that i have my 24" lcd and...
so my current wish list for parts has me at a dilemma
im pricing out a i7 system with the 940 cpu.
but what would be more worthwhile to do?
get 2 GeForce 280's and go SLI and stick with 3GB of DDR3 1333
or just get 1 Geforce 280 and bump up the RAM to 6GB DDR3 1333 (and obviously plunk in...
I've got a hard limit budget of around 3K to spend on a new gaming rig. no need for speakers, monitors, keyboard or mouse so its just the tower we're talking. my current spec for the new PC is as follows.
games will be played @ 1920x1200 (24" LCD)
cpu: Intel Core i7 940 2.93GHz LGA 1366...
so my 19" Hyundai L90D+ is starting to be a little small for my tastes, and i plan on building a new PC by years end so I figure new monitor time!
at first I was thinking 22" and was going to go with either a Dell Ultrasharp 2208WFP or an Acer AL2216Wbd. before i made my final decision i...
