Minnesota Rules, also supporting a Minnesotan beer brand makes the beer taste even better.
Yes indeed a U2713HM, Not the best monitor, backlight "balance" and corner bleed isnt spot on, no dead pixels though and thats more important to me.
Heres where all the magic happens, the wood part of the Ikea desk is spun around because the plastic trim fell off leaving a nasty edge that cut into my arms

When i updated my M4 256gb to the latest firmware i thought i bricked it too.
didnt show up in bios after i flashed it, So i updated my bios and magically everything was fine after that
appearantly my Gigabyte z77-ud5h had one of the oldest bios versions it could have:eek:
Well it looks like when the monitor is first turned on and for about 20 minutes after the screen looks good, but as it gets warmer the black splotching starts to show up gradually
I turn my monitor off when i leave the house, and i have the monitor to go off after 20 minutes in case.
and i cant think of any crazy backgrounds ive had, usually very colorful or mostly black ( Space pictures)
I currently use an LG 246WP-BN MVA monitor and ive begun to notice discoloring and some vertical lines in video games
I managed to capture the problem on mostly dark grey/ grey and i took 2 pictures

My Seasonic x750 is awesome. fan never even spins under load and i have no fear of a fire starting! I build pc's with some frequency for friends/realatives/etc so i could use this in one of those builds
Amd athlon 1700
Amd athlon xp 3000 " barton "
amd athlon 64 3200 "winchester" socket 939
intel core 2 duo ( blew my skull how fast it was )
Core i7 920
Core i7 3770k
i3 3220 built an htpc with it, also will serve as a gaming rig for when friends are over

Unsure why i felt like i...

This is very true, i just am having a battle with myself convincing myself to get IVY bridge.. and since haswell isnt that far out it and the new amd video cards should drop near the same time ( supposedly ). So thats when ill wait til
regardless of how much faster haswell will be over ivy bridge, haswell is what im going to buy.
My i7 920 and X58 chipset need a refresh and i want native Sata 6gb/s and usb 3.0 and a healthy gain of performance wouldnt hurt ( maybe not so much in games but whatever )
I have a friend that is always broke but needed to upgrade from his::
Athlon 3500 Winchester, 2 gigs of ram, IDE hdd, 8800 GTS
to an Intel Core i3-2120, 8 gigs of ram, Sata drive, still keeping the 8800 GTS...( my 6950 is the video card it will be getting )
but even without upgrading the GPU...
I say stick with the Core i7 920. For a 4 year old processor it still is kicking butt. some games you have to turn a few settings down to run at 1920x1200 but i suspect that has more to do with my 6950 2gb and less about the processor.
just wish it had Sata 6 GB/s for my SSD and USB 3.0.. so...
Yea i guess i never really put much thought into the tearing i was noticing. I just force Vsync on and i havent had any other issues..
Looking to upsize it but TN screens apperantly have very fast response times, but not best color reproduction... and IPS have slower response with better...
Posted a while ago, changed a few things since and added some top fans
used a 5.5' (140mm) hole saw... Isn't perfect but it works.. next time ill make sure i use a drill press.
Some fan grilles are on the way to make the top look more finished looking
I have a Core i7 920 stock clocks, and it seems to hold its own. yea there is faster stuff out there but my 6950 still plays all the games i want just fine
I intend on having this computer last 5 years ( 2 more ! )
Wasnt intending on trolling anyone, Sorry.
Yes i could delete games/files that have become unused or games ive finished but i dont want to have to mess around with that or worry about making sure my drive isnt too full all the time. Im sure when SSD's of larger sizes become cheaper is when ill...
Awesome i think i finally understand .
Seems a little cobbley to get this all to work, a Full on amp i can start to see why it would be better, and then get unpowered speakers for that!
ALSO, lets say you have a subwoofer with only one coax port, after the split it at the dac, you would split...
Excuse my ignorance, All a DAC does is take a signal which is digital, and converts it to an Analog signal, and allows me to let the signal go to 2 devices at the same time?
So what id have to do to set that up is
1 )plug into an optical plug from the computer
2) plug a powered speaker...
I appreciate everyones suggestions..
I already have a reciever , and speakers for my TV, just until i move out they are in the same room... So I feel like the best thing to do is get a dedicated set for my computer ( I do FAR more at my computer, and dont wish to have a bunch of shit laying...
I cant seem to figure this out myself, Too many options
Looking to spend up to 500-600 dollars on a setup for my computer
Id like to have 2 speakers, and a Subwoofer.
