Blaze, search Froogle. I just bought mine off ebay. It looks like a reseller got a bunch in from an office. These are just used, and not refurbished. There is also a reseller on the web selling refurbished monitors with a 6 month warranty, but they are much more expensive. You can also buy...
Yeah, I wasn't sure how to match the memory on the Nvidia list with memory from Newegg for example. I guess I'm trying to figure out if I should buy the $250 680i board or buy a $150 board. I'll be getting a e6600, new memory, and already have the 8800 gts.
I read a review a while back that said that the Nvidia 680i has a feature that can automatically overclock itself including the memory (Trying to find it again). Has anyone ever tried it? Also I went to the Nvidia site to look up compatible memory. There was a long list, but the numbers...
Does regional encoding effect DVD drives? i.e. will I still need to buy only Region 1 movies? I did a search and found a thread about a drive "locking" in the region. Is this right or will a drive play any region?
I replaced my Audigy 2 ZS with an X-Fi music, and BF2 would crash to the desktop as soon as I switched to X-Fi and Ultra settings  As soon as I installed the X-Fi patch, no more problems. That was how it worked for me and my system....
Dapper, I'm being the signature quote police..... I love O brother, I think Clooney says "I don't want Fop, I'm a Dapper Dan Man!" Just figured you might want to check it and have that great exchange quoted correctly.
I went for the 518 since my 1000 would spaz out sometimes, after working well for a few months. Probably an interference problem. Guess I should sell the 1000.
But seriously folks... I won't be using these headphones too much, only when I have to. With my 5.1 speakers I love hearing the pitter patter of Special Forces feet only to reverse and catch their body parts in my treads.
It looks like (from this and other threads):
1) In-Ear's block out...
Well, the smaller headphones would likely fit in my PSP case, while the larger ones would need their own case. I might not be able to bring full sizers with me depending on the situation. I can fiit the PSP in the pockets of some of my pants, but full-size headphones won't fit. Thanks for the...
Thanks for the replies. Anyone have In-ear haedphones? My thinking was if I get In-ears, I can use them for two applications instead of one considering the quality to be similar. Also, maybe in-ear's perform better without an amp? I love music and have good home and computer speakers, but I...
I can't decide between getting full-size headphones and in-ear headphones. I'm guessing full-size may sound better, but I could also used a good in-ear pair with my PSP. I'll use these mainly for gaming... So...
I've appreciated this thread since I'm looking for headphones for gaming when I can't use my 5.1. I will probably get an X-Fi so a stereo set-up is where I'm leaning. I was looking at www.headphone.com as recommended earlier. I don't mind the big cushiness of some of the "top 10" full size...
I just had to voice my happiness to see your Bose comment. I have always felt sorry for all the people overpaying for Bose thinking they got the best out there.
On topic: I have 5.1 Klipsch and simply have one of the rear speakers on the floor. It still gives you all the psition info you...
Anyone's experience from an Audigy 2 ZS to an X-fi would be appreciated. I've seen some X-Fi boxes in games (what I would primarily be using it for) and I'm wondering what I'm missing.
Pretty much Newegg. Last time around I used the Egg, Monarch, and ZipZoomFly and all did well, but lately Newegg has had the good stuff and the best prices.
7800 GTX is clocked faster and has a few more pipes than the 7800 GT. Bang for your buck to me is: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130256 A 7800 GT that is cheap and OC'ed close to 7800 GTX speeds
I could be wrong, but if you aren't OCing then "quality" RAM isn't as...
I used sysprep and everything has been smooth. Had one crash in BF2 SF, windows said it was a driver error. Downloaded new Nvidia drivers, and so far no problems. Saved me a lot of work until I feel like a fresh install. Thanks!
I've got a new mobo (Asus A8N), video card and memory on the way. I'll be keeping all my other components including my hard drive. Will I need to reinstall windows on this drive to use it with the new mobo, or do I just leave the drive as it is? I have a little music and some pics on the...
The DFI is out, they need 24 pin PSU and I think mine is 20 pin, no telling what other requirements they have that I don't match. Guess I'll go ASUS or ABIT, after I read their requirements.
The more I look around that G. Skill looks pretty good, and would have been cheaper than 1 gb of my Corsair. Now I have to add about $32 to the price of all the memory to cover restocking, but I still might go with the G. Skill
I haven't decided. I just cancelled the DFI. Although I built my sig computer by myself, I really don't want to run into trial and error compatibility problems. I read about problems with the Asus A8N, so looked at DFI. DFI and Corsair supposedly don't mix, so I cancelled that. So I'm still...
I'm gonna piggy back here too and not start a new thread. Most threads are asking for good memory to OC, which I'm not going to do. Is low latency the thing to look for? I have 1 gb Corsair 3200 XL Pro 2-2-2-5 now and want to get 2 gb. I've heard I should just buy 2 gb outright instead of...
Thank goodness for that link to the compatible memory thread for DFI. Just barely got my LanParty SLI board cancelled. Now I need to start looking all over again, maybe the Asus A8N. I have 1 gb Corsair 3200 xl pro, the 2-2-2-5 stuff and ordered another gb that has already shipped. I saw a...
Never used 3d Marks too much but the few times I did, the numbers tracked well with comparable systems, but this time... First run was 4950, but then it said install the 1.10 patch. Next run was 1837, think somehow cool bits turned everything down. Next run 3965. Next tried to OC through...
I just built my system listed for under $2,000 I believe. I already had the Audigy 2 ZS though. To lower the price you could get a 3500+ without sacrificing much. Buy a cheaper case, and get the memory without the cool but useless LED's to save a few bucks. Or buy the Crucial Ballistix. I...
I know my eyeisght has gotten worse and it directly crrelates with the ammount of time spent on the computer. However, I know it is from constantly focusing on something very close to the eyes for an extended period. I have always used CRT's no headaches. Just eyesite declination since Super...
