Easy to understand why PC gamers feel the right to the cards. We've been buying cards for 25 years, the profits which are used to create new and better cards. Then all of a sudden, the dynamic changes and opportunists with no prior investment in the industry prevent us from buying the newest...
Thanks for advice. I went with the 2060. GPU and CPU utilization both range between 90-100% in my preliminary testing, so they seem pretty well balanced. I might try to get a bit more out of this CPU, 4.7 or 4.8 ghz doesn't seem impossible.
If I can ride out this system that I built in 2011...
My [email protected] is paired with a 1440p 60Hz display driven by a 970 GTX. Thinking about giving this system one last GPU upgrade. I'm drawn to the 1660 Ti or 2060 RTX. Cost really isn't an issue as long as there is a performance benefit, but I don't want to waste money on more GPU than this...
Played a bunch of apple IIGS shovelware back in the day. Would have to tip my hat to DOOM on my pentium I 66 MHz, however, as stealing my heart to PC gaming. Still, leaned heavily on consoles as the 'better' platform until PC networks and netcodes improved to the point where playing online was...
2500k overclocked to 4.4 since 2011. Works great with recent GPU upgrade to a 970. Added an SSD a few years ago, wworld of difference. Plays everything I want it to at 1440p with modest settings.
No urge to CPU upgrade. Used to upgrade all the time in the 90's/2000's, always thought I'd be...
Was an early adopter. Loved Virtua Fighter 2, panzer dragoon, nights, wipeout, sega rally, daytona USA. Was always waiting for a 3D sonic, but it never came
Also have had both since day 1. Agree that WiFi performance of the link is somewhat spotty to my living room tv, but works reasonably well. I use powerline ethernet with my desktop and it works wonderfully in certain situations.
Witcher 3? Steamlink + steam remote
Rocket league? link +...
I wouldn't do something like this. Its clearly a scam and I don't want scammers to have access to any more of my personal information than they already do
Its much more immersive.
Probably no good large scale data on chronic eye effects, so no one can give you a great answer on that, even if they say they can.
Look into building your own. I made one 10+ years ago by stripping the backlight from a desktop LCD, placing a light source and focusing lens behind it, and covering the thing in a big wood enclosure.
How about the steam link? Mine does witcher 3 flawlessly at 1080p over power line ethernet. Could probably do a retro game at 480p over even bad wireless
I'm still hanging on to an overclocked 2500K. Recently upgraded from a 570 to 970 and the system feels like new again. Could easily afford upgrading the processor/RAM, but if my current rig is more than good enough, why? I'll get at least another year or 2 out of it
Really starting to appreciate the link/controller now. Working through the Witcher 3 currently and playing from my couch with the link is a better experience than playing at my desk. Modified some settings and am now getting 60 fps with no noticeable lag on the "beautiful" setting over...
SLI was old in 2007! I had Voodoo 2s in SLI back in 1998. Worked pretty well back then - only 50% fps gain over a single card, but never had SLI related issues/bugs
Played the hell out of Doom on my parents Pentium 1 66 mhz Packard bell. Half of the time playing was spent navigating to the executable from DOS and waiting forever for it to load. I played with the keyboard only because there was no vertical aiming, only horizontal. Didn't seem weird at the time
I flipped my oculus dk1 preorder for over twice what I paid, but supply was exceptionally low and demand had blown up with the Facebook acquisition.
Will wait on this one. Much more interested in the valve implementation
At first I had buyers remorse because it just didn't really work over my wireless n. Upgraded to a power line network and its been flawless since. Have been playing lots of shadows of mordor and south park stick of truth which have given a solid intro to the controller. Have also done some...
