It turned out to be a setting on the monitor. By default the Power Button setting is set to "Off". That means that the monitor is completely off including USB when pressing the button, and it also affects how the monitor behaves when in standby. Setting that to "Standby" results in the USB...
The USB disconnecting during standby is an annoyance when connected to my MacBook Pro. Since the keyboard and mouse can't wake it, I have to open the lid, and my USB DAC doesn't reconnect. I have to disconnect the USB-C cable and reconnect it for the DAC to reconnect. It also results in my work...
I think its VRR related. I turned off Adaptive Sync in the monitor while it was happening and it immediately stopped. Do you have GeForce or Radeon graphics? I have a RX 7900 XTX.
I've seen a strange issue where lines start appearing on the screen. It happened last night after waking the screen from standby. The bottom of the screen had a 1 pixel line that went across the entire screen, plus random short lines throughout. I power cycled and it went away. It just started...
I have some more observations after using for half a day, and seeing it in the dark.
I'm in awe of the picture! I've been using an OLED for TV for 8 years, but having it for my PC is like experiencing it for the first time all over again.
I pushed it a little further back on my desk, and that...
I received the MPG 321URX today, and I absolutely love it! My top concern was that brightness wouldn't be enough for me, but I can't tell any difference from my Dell U3223QE. I've been using the Dell at 75%, which I believed was 300 nits since its a 400 nit monitor, but it must not be a linear...
I was able to place an order for a MPG last night from Best Buy. They had stock for 1 minute every 30 minutes for nearly 12 hours. It shows delivery on the 22nd. I'm anxious to have an OLED to evaluate. I don't plan to ever purchase another display with a matte screen, so I'm hopeful this one...
I agree -- it really is a subjective preference depending on the room, the user, and their needs, so it doesn't make sense to declare that someone is wrong about their opinion. And opinions can change over time.
The Display Guy recorded a response to optimum, and in general I also prefer a dim reflection when compared to a haze. (I say in general because I had a UP3218K and didn't like the glossy coating on that one.) I have both a U3223QE with a light matte and an Apple Studio Display in the same room...
In that Monitors Unboxed video they mentioned that the panel protect feature is automatically running during standby when it's set to the 16 hour prompt. It's good to know that feature does work as advertised with the MPG model, as MistaSparkul said it isn't working on the MAG model.

Tom mentioned something I don't recall hearing in other reviews. The default option for PD is 65W, but there is an option for 90W PD. However, that option limits max brightness to 60%.
I'm not too concerned with longevity as this is just a stop gap until proper RGB PHOLED is available, which I believe will be available in 1 to 2 years. My biggest concern for productivity use is SDR brightness, as I personally find 250 nits too dim for an IPS display, but I know it isn't...
I decided to cancel and wait for the MPG. With it being only $50 more for access to firmware updates and the Gaming Intelligence software it seems like the right thing to do.
I'm not scared away by those issues, but I'll evaluate during the return period to make sure I don't have any issues in use. My main concern now is with the SDR brightness, coming from an IPS monitor that is brighter. I've got the brightness set to 240 nits now (60% of 400 nits on my U3223QE) to...
It may be a regional thing, but I've been checking daily for both MAG and MPG for a few weeks and today is the first time I've seen the MAG in stock at Best Buy. I haven't seen either in stock at Amazon since I started watching for it.
Update: It's listed as sold out again.
Is there any meaningful difference in SDR 100% white sustained brightness between the different monitors with this panel? From what I can tell from reviews they're all pretty similar -- around 250ish nits -- and I don't think it is worth spending more for one of the others unless it is over 300...
Has there been any announcement regarding more availability? I want the MPG model, and all I've seen at Best Buy for the last few weeks is "This item is no longer available in new condition." I've got a Best Buy gift card to use and hope to see it in stock soon.
At around 8:00 Tom compared the 100% full white screen between the ASUS and LG and commented that both show sustained brightness between 560 and 600 nits. Even with ABL enabled that doesn't sound right.
It's baffling to me that they plan to launch RGB panels next year. As you mentioned previously it's hard to believe that won't result in a drop in brightness.
I placed an order for one today as well, and I'm very excited about it. I sold my M32U here in January, in anticipation of the U3224KB -- scouring the web for any news about it every day since it was announced at CES. I've been using an Apple Studio Display in the meantime, and I'll be glad to...
Today's update of the MSRP price list dropped the U3224KB to $2,999. After the eventual discount that should bring it to around $2,399.

The great thing about 8K is you should be able use integer scaling to play at 4K while still having the HiDPI for work. However, I tried that with a UP3218K before I returned it, and an RX 6800 XT didn't offer the option to enable integer scaling for it. I don't know if that was due to the use...
I have a counter prediction. Apple will be the first to offer an 8K OLED with 120Hz. It'll be amazing but will cost twice what anyone wants to pay for it. It'll be years later before there is any competition. :)
There are some Mini LED 32" 8K panels listed on DisplayNinja. Maybe we'll see some displays built using these panels in the next couple years.

I agree on the not wanting to shell out big money for IPS, but I think we're years away from having a high PPI/high refresh rate OLED. It seems as if everything on the market is a stop-gap solution while we wait for OLED to become mainstream.
I've been watching the Dell site for information on the U3224KB. They just posted the data sheet with specs this week, and there is an MSRP price list that has it at $3,190 US. It will likely be available in May.

That's an interesting thought. I hadn't considered that, so thank you for sharing.
The new PSU is 1200W, but the UPS is 1000VA. The old PSU is 750W. So maybe that's why it works with the old but not with the new. I bought more PSU than I need so that it will remain in the passive fan mode most...
I purchased an NZXT C1200 for my new build, and it immediately tripped my UPS with F02 failure on first boot. The alarm went off with F02 on the UPS screen, and it required turning power off and back on to reset. That seems to indicate a short in the battery, but this is a new battery (just...
Haha! Yes, I have dropped the price down quite a bit since posting. I thought about putting in on eBay just to see what I can get for it there, but I haven't sold anything on eBay in over a decade.
