get a y-splitter that also changes from standard headphone style male plug to stereo rca female, then you get a standard rca audio cable, and plug it into the AUX plugs on your stereo. thats how i used to do it.
whoops, missed that one.
i guess check out the muvo like othersider said, or the flash based irivers.
despite the lack of screen, id still atleast take a look at the shuffle
ill jump in on this one and reccomend and ipod shuffle.
i dont discriminate when it comes down to these mp3 players, so i think my opinion isnt very biased, its just directed at the exercise music option.
tiny
lightweight
seems very durable (almost bulletproof)
decent sound (cant really...
that stays true to the "no nonsense" webdesign. its really clean and professional looking and its also easy on the eyes and looks to be fairly straight-forward.
the only things i would consider altering are: the button bar, and the music thing (incase the music isnt of the tropical flavour)...
id love to know why everyone is soooo damn obsessed with google.
it personally really ticks me off when someone asks a question, and the first response is google.
i think that just about everyone on the internet knows of its existence, and most people do search prior to asking a question, so...
the one on the left
but, both of them need to be fixed up tho.
the bottom of the logo isnt smooth at all, and it really turns me off from a rather nice logo.
make the curves smooth so that one doesnt notice the transitions, and you will have a nice little logo thoere.
but the left one...

theres the 1290x960 resolution one.
havent made a higher res of it, but if enough people want it, ill redo it in a higher res.
no problem man, its a pretty damn useful site for all things concerning desktops.
and i actually use the utx patch to load all of my themes.
its alot smoother than any other secondary theme program.
there is one thing that bothers me about all of these images.
the text.
its almost too big in the images, and it draws attention away from the images themself. The text/type imo also doesnt show any creativity whatsoever (besides the colour change), and typography makes a difference from a...
whats wrong with vectoring in photoshop??
its pen tool works just fine for me. im not gonna go out and spend some more money on a program that does something that i can already do in photoshop.
i do understand that illustrator and the like are full blown vector only programs, so its easy...
also, do you REALLY need an lcd monitor??
i do understand that they have improved the specs/image quality by leaps and bounds over the past few years, but they cannot match image quality and price point of high end crt monitors.
i do lots of graphic design (very little in the 3d aspect)...
http://www.boxxtech.com/
check out that site, they sell computers mainly geared towards 3d application use, so i would suggest configuring one on their site, and then buying your own parts and putting together a system to match it.
if you do lots of 3d work, it will be really stupid to not...
i remember when i used to draw maps for school :)
anyways, does this need to have "antique" details, because if you just need a map, you can easily vector it in either ps or illustrator and print to whatever size you need.
and im pretty sure that theres some tutorials out there to achieve...
thanx alot man.
the psds of the logo are up and ready for your download.
and its fine the way it is right now, no need for a domain as of right now.
and thanx again :)
heh, sorry metallica, didnt intend on beating anyone to the punch :p
anyways, that year of hosting sounds quite interesting. i mean if it isnt too much, id love it :)
its 630 here right now.
ive got an econ midterm in half an hour, but after im done, ill be kind enough to redo that logo in a supersized resolution.
pm me anything else i should know while doing it. eg, if you want me to alter a few things that would make it more effective for ya, etc...
hmm, there is tons and tons of different techniques to achieve what you want.
all of it can be done quite easily with the very basic photoshop tools teamed with good layering.
i dont really have enough time to explain everything, but the best way to get an effect that you have pictured in...
i started using a graphire 1 a little while ago, and ever since ive tested it out with Alias SketchBook Pro ive totally given up on paper.
if i were you at this point, i would make it a mission to go out and try the intuos and compare its features and feel with a normal graphire only for...
Well, to make a long story short, i need a new computer.
im a soon-to-be industrial design student, and my p3 600 compaq isnt gonna hold up with programs such as autocad, 3dmax, and whatever else im going to need to use.
ive been a long time lurker on these forums, and you guys seem to...
try pulling out the audigy and see if the same thing occurs.
i recently purchased an augigy zs2 and every single time that i loaded up a game, weird sounds would start coming out and everything would be frozen.
now the audigy sits in its box waiting for a long expected comp upgrade
heres my entry, finally had a chance to complete it, but it didnt come out the way i had hoped :\
too many changes ruined my hopes.
aaanyways, i really loved adey's and spy nyx's entries, excellent stuff there. the cleanliness and profesionalism of adey's logo gets my vote though :)
man, my p3 600 machine just aint cutting it anymore.
believe it or not, i can multitask photoshop and 3dmax 4 despite only having 512mb max of pc100 ram and no agp slot :)
i need [H]'s opinion on full-out stainless steel cases.
looking to build a new coputer in the next couple of months, and since i have the resources, i was thinking of getting a custom built case built entirely out of stainless steel.
im not much of a comp wizard, so i dont know the heat...
yea, those kind seem to think that anyone can make a logo that actually works and is respected.
i also wanna see the design that they came up with, just to compare.
hmm, ya know what a good payment for a great production ready logo would be?
a fully built top of the line rig :p
but since that seems to be out of the question, 15 bucks aint bad.
gonna give this a shot
since there isnt very many *good* vectoring tutorials, i would suggest learning on your own.
i know that it seems difficult, but once you get a hang of it and screw up a few times it pays off in the end.
First find a tutorial on using the pen tool in ps/ill (had one bookmarked but its gone)...
:)
the photo actually comes off a digital vision transportation photo-disc.
the stock photo is a black and white that i added some life to.
its good to see someone actually worry about this kind of thing, because theres alot of people who dont even think twice before googling for an image...
