1) If I won the 5k black edition I would finally upgrade my system. This would give me an excuse to upgrade the motherboard, memory, heat sink etc.. It would be the first time I have won anything, so I would be relieved that the world wasn't out to get me....:(
2) The next generation AMD...
So, far I like the monsoon, I have been able to achieve 3ghz w/ prime stability for 24hrs+..
I recently removed the IHS, but before I removed it, core temp showed 49C on Core 0, and 60C on the other. My temps don't go over 50C on either core now.
The fans spinning up and down did annoy me...
In summary I was saying that ortho's simulates how the cpu would operate, be it at 100% or not. The program I mentioned above operates the cpu in a manner that most application do not. TAT I don't know how it uses the cpu, but I would guess it's close the S&M, but they have there place. TAT can...
Have you ever had good temps with this CPU?
If Not, then I would guess that the CPU and IHS is not making good contact and there is no amount of remounting the heat sink that will help. You have remounted two different heat sinks, I think it is safe to assume that the contact between the heat...
trying increasing chipset and ltd voltages.
Idle Cycle Limit: 256
Dynamic Counter: Disable
Command Per Clock (CPC): Auto
And I would suggest updated to the current bios if your not. And if you are up to date, I would clear the CMOS.
Make sure you have good contact between the H.S. and...
Change the priority in Otho's, and your PC will not be very responsive.
I found another program called S&M that definitely raised my temps higher than Otho's and even started to force the PC P&C 510 P.S. to increase it's ripple voltage.
But in all reality, I believe Otho's is a real...
So let me understand your situation, when you unplug the tec unit, your system works fine, but when your tec is plugged in it gives you two errors, "check CPU fan speed" & "check CPU core voltage"?
I going to assume that the errors were being displayed on the Monsoon LCD?
It sounds like the...
The system is in my sig, but for some reason I cannot get acceptable memory read/write in Everrest, but in SiSoftware Sandra by bandwidth is great. The latency is ~370ns in Sandra and Everrest.????
My SuperPi time is slow also, it's ~46s for 1M test, which is slower than my previous setup by...
Same stepping and running @ 3.0GHZ also. Stable for 24hrs orthos so far. I have benched at 3100MHZ w/o problems, but haven't run tests for stability yet. An amazing stepping.
That seems a little high to me.
I had the xp90c on a opty 170 (1.5v, 3.0GHZ, DFI NF4) and idled at ~36C and loaded (prime small fft's) ~46C. I measured the temp with smart guardian.
I would check the contact between the IHS and the xp90. I have had the best results by applying a puddle of...
I got the Monsoon today, and went to install it, and ran into a small problem. The pegs that are sopposed to slide through the mounting holes in the mother board are to big (in radius), so I had to lift the mounting mechism a little (~3mm) by using small washers.
I will post some pictures...
Running Vista 64x right now just surfing the net and using close to 750mb of memory and 1.3gb w/ P.F...
If you plan on running vista ever I think you could barely get away with 1gb of memory, but if you want to game, or anything that actually uses memory you would be best with at least 2gb. I...

Well, I think a price drop is in order, I'm pretty sure the PCP&C is priced pretty good, but the 6800 Ultra could be a little better deal, after watching the cards on ebay, I believe in order to make it a good deal...
eVga 6800 Ultra - $500.00 - $25.00 = $475.00
I don't believe you can...
Just as the title says, I plan on upgrading to a SLI system early next year, so I need to sell a couple of things to make it happen...
PCP&C 510deluxe (3months old) - $185.00
eVGA 6800 Ultra w/ NV-5 (3months old)(450mhz/1200mhz) - $500.00 - $50.00 = $450.00
I will include shipping with...
That is not true about the NF2 non ultra not supporting dual channel... I bought an Epox 8rda+ NF2 400 chipset motherboard the first week they were available and it ran dual channel just fine..
I would think that with the single 6800gt's performance matching that of 2 - 6600gt SLI is not a smart decision except with the upgragability...
I don't think that a Single 6800 ULtra will out perform the 2 - 6800gt SLI because the cards are pretty much the same, but with different clocks...
It is pretty easy... I directly connected my 3.3v line to the vdimm circuit and then turned down my 3.3v line (via pots on the the P.S.) until I was still stable w/o problems with the memory or system.... ;)
I'am using the 6800 ultra w/ the NV-5 silencer installed on it w/o any problems... I did replace the nforce 3 chipset cooler with the active vantec iceburg copper chipset cooler.. It is close quarters, but that it is capable w/o problems.... I did have the swiftech 159 chipset cooler installed...
I can add to this, If you really stop and look at the little nuts that come with the NV-5 and then look at the little rubber spacers/washers, it only makes sense that if you tighten the nuts to far that the rubber spacers will collapse and the nut will bottom out and that will cause you to most...
