I had a card each from the first three generations of 3DFX, still have the first two hanging on the wall in my shop. Weird to think about the 16 bit color restriction now, and the glide protocol, and the Voodoo 4&5 launch disaster... Lots of memories. (I still have my Kyro 2 on the wall as well...
I'm using a http://www.8bitdo.com/n30pro-2/ , it works perfectly and feels like it's well made. A little bit small for big hands, but that's going to happen if you want portability.
I'm pretty sure I have a Guillemot Kyro 2 in my parts bin, right next to my Diamond Monster 4MB Voodoo and my 8MB Voodoo 2. All of them seemed too neat to throw away.
Haven't straightened a socket pin before, but I have had to straighten several on CPU's over the years. Bought a secondhand Phenom II a couple years ago and it was shipped without anything on the pins, all of them were smashed flat on one side of the chip. 45 minutes with a razor blade lining...
Athlon II X2 250 in my wifes computer is just not cutting it in Borderlands 2.
Looking to buy a 4 or 6 core Phenom II, probably won't OC it so non-BE is fine.
Budgeted 50-100 for this, depending on chip, will Paypal, heat under lghost.

I love Netflix streaming, I've only been able to get fast enough internet to use it in the last year, but I find it to be a great value.
The thing that jumped out at me in that report was the list of shows that Netflix is dropping, did the analysts try to watch that shit? I'd bet on Netflix...
If Sony had some samurais they could dispatch to take care of these self important, entitled, contemptuous 'Anonymous' assholes, the world would be a better place.
Well, except for the part where a corporation is killing people, that's kinda scary. :P
The 6990 is almost crazy overkill for the gaming I do, but XFX is the company to buy a Radeon from. I am growing weary of the green card I am running and want to go back to red, so I'll likely have something XFX pretty quick without winning any drawing at all. Go go superior warranty and support!
Bought a S12-500 for my Opteron system based on recommendations here and at SPCR, excellent unit and I put a S12-380 in the wife's machine as well. Thumbs up from me!
Can be ATX or mATX, prefer nVidia chipsets. Anyone use a mobile chip in a desktop board? I am reading about several boards that do not support mobiles but no confirmation of any that do. Any hot tips?
Thanks much for your advice guys, you rock. The kids and the wife(!!) were up late playing Mario Party last night and my 3 year old was squealing with delight. Made my Christmas to see him so excited. Merry Christmas !
It's called journalism... If they didn't do a Dell review the exact same way they did all the other reviews it would not be possible to directly compare them. You (mikemodano9c) sound like you haven't read any of their other complete system reviews.
The fact is that [H] has gotten pretty big...
A much better comparo is to the X800XL, 16 pipes at 400 MHZ holds up a lil better against the 6800GS. If you were partial to the red for any reason you can pick up a X800XL for under 200 at Newegg right here.
The X800XL likely won't be much of an overclocker but at stock speeds will give the...
Were they all the same mainboard? I can easily believe you had 40 machines with ECS or Biostar mainboards that weren't ready for prime time. My wife has a MSI RS480M2 in her machine, runs fine. Built and sold several other Ati chipset boards from MSI with no issues, in fact I think Windows went...
Wow, consensus built pretty fast. Thanks guys, I guess I go buy a gamecube now. Is there a must have game I should look for? I played a little Zelda:Windwalker and Mario Sunshine when my youngest was in the hospital, other than that haven't seen much on the GC.
You could have had the PCI bus locked down fine, a few mhz too much on the CPU can corrupt windows files even if the HDD is fine. I've had my FSB at stock OC'ing before (remember the unlocked Durons, sigh) and corrupted files just past the edge of stability.
Need some help as I am a PC guy, haven't owned a console since my playstation died a year after I paid 299 smackers for it.
I've got three wee ones, ages 3, 5, and 9 and I'd like to get them a console for Christmas. 360 is too rich for my blood so my options would be:
the PS2 - Load...
The P180 is probably the only case I would consider using a fanless PSU in, but the Phantom 350 is not going to have as much headroom as I'd like. I will be overclocking this machine moderately and I may use a dual core processor now or in the future.
The Phantom 500 would be safer...
Thanks for the input, I do appreciate it. I think I will probably go with the Seasonic even without the straight through design. Now do I do the 400 for 75 or the 500 for 99.... decisions, decisions
Still haven't ordered CPU, may have a line on a cheap Opty 146 so that will likely be it but...
I have used an AX500 and I wasn't impressed with the noise levels. I prefer the straight through cooling designs in general and especially as it may go into a Antec P180 case.
I am about to build a ground up fresh machine, will be using a P180 or SLK3000B case. Will not be using SLI but I do like a robust PSU so I am looking at the FSP550-60PLN-B and the Seasonic S12 500. Anyone able to give me an idea how much louder the Fortron is than the Seasonic? Than a...
