Can a bad, low quality, and/or inexpensive USB hub damage connected devices? Or as long as it works, then it's fine? Since it is supposed to only relay the connection and not send any signals etc. of its own, so I was just wondering about this.

Does burning speed change based on media type? For instance, I was burning a DVD where all the files on it were *.avi, and the burn speed was 4x. When I burned a DVD, the burn speed was 8x. And yet my DVD burner is rated at 16x for DVD+R (which is the only thing I burn.) Also, the DVD media I...
