They had to launch this on android or the platform-independent services would have had an advantage. Still, Steve Jobs must be turning in his grave.... a true sign apple is changing with the times, albeit b/c they must, not b/c they want to.
If Apple ever manages to defeat Android, they can just like, break YouTube, Spotify and Pandora on all Apple devices with a software 'update'. Then follow-up with an open letter telling everyone these technologies are obsolete
Snow leopard is the last os to have "save as" featured in the file menu. For simplicity they just removed it so we wouldn't all get so confused. Further they even made auto save a standard feature so we don't forget to click save after we are done with our work.
What's next? Emails that...
The article is highly misleading.
Mitochondrial DNA Is completely separate from individual human DNA. It resides in the mitochondria separate from eukaryotic DNA that is contributed from the mother and the father. Mitochondria are believed to have evolved separately and are in fact...
Of course only a fraction of these people would actually go if offered the chance. But it always amazes me how interested the public is in science and technology. I found this video of one of the shuttles retiring equally fascinating: Space-shuttle-Endeavours-crosstown-journey-through-L.A...
Great review as always.
Can someone knowledgeable please explain where 16X AF is set and what the effect is on image quality / performance on these cards / game titles?
Thanks!
What happened in that town was really terrible. I think this comment from the press release should really be emphasized, we are indeed desensitized by overexposure to such things. When kids see violence and aggressiveness, they should be upset by it. In the world today, it surrounds them and...
Hey guys,
Just bought a new Antec high current gamer 750 from Newegg. Everything looks good in general, however, I found a sliver of solder exiting the case from one of the vents. I was able to remove it, but a bit worried now. I immediately thought of returning it, but this sort of thing...
The MM to iCloud transition really sucks for snow leopard users. In order to transition, you have to enter some new mail server information in the mail client. Unfortunately, the mail server information is locked and cannot be edited inside the mail client. So, you have to delete your...
The prices just dipped on the 2490WUXi2.... it's down to just below $900 shipped at most places. Anyone have any ideas why this may have happened? Cheaper panels? Holidays?
I suspect the best panels get cherry picked... I bet apple pays a small premium and gets the most uniform displays. Anyhow, have you tried the LaCie 526?
I also have a Dell U2410 and am trying to figure out whether to keep it or go for the Nec.... very tough call considering what I'm reading.
I'm looking for a bigger laptop drive also. My question is where are all these 250GB - 300GB drives I've read about that should have been released last year? Perpendicular recording tech has only gotten the mainstream up to 160GB. Who wants a 4200 RPM drive? I've had a laptop with one and...
Does anyone have any information on overclocking the 1.5ghz PowerBooks to the 1.67 setting? I can't seem to find much info off google... only on the mini. It would be nice if it was just a jumper setting...
Hey guys,
Does anyone know of a PC USB TV Tuner that works on OS X? I'm looking to pick something up that will work with both mac and pc, obviously a mac version won't work with windows so I'm more interested in a PC version. I've noticed the ATI, Hauppauge and Plextor all have separate...
I have a viewsonic vp201 that I switched from my pc to my pb and it just doesn't look as good as the pb's built in display. The viewsonic looks great on my pc though. The pb's display was one of the reasons I switch from a pc notebook... it just looks really nice.
Well I just got my new pb about a month ago and also had wireless problems. My PC laptop never had problems reaching my bedroom, but the powerbook was constantly dropping the connection... I'd say it's almost 100ft away. Anyway, I downloaded a widget called Airport Radar and noticed I have a...
Not sure if your using Tiger, but there is an option in the system preferences>network when you click configure to automatically connect to preferred networks.. make sure your wireless network is in there, then click options and there's a drop down box at the top.... set that to "keep looking...
I just got a 15" pb recently and really love it... my PC pretty much just sits now as a file server and work horse for things the mac chokes on. I'd say get the powerbook since it is so highly polished. We have an ibook at work and the display and keyboard are just 2 different leagues... so is...
I've got an extreme at work and an express at home... the signal strength is definitely higher at work... and thats with no antenna. If you strung a bunch of express units together, like esr, I'd imagine you'd get better coverage than a single extreme.... but with just 1, the extreme is...
I just put a NV5 on my GT and it hardly lowered the temps... I reinstalled using as5 and the temps came down 5C. If you've already got an ultra sink, I would just reinstall it with the good paste... I can't believe how good that stuff works. The NV5 barely moves any air... I can feel a very...
¿? If less is more than use nothing and be happy with your stock temps.
Your NOT using a small contact area modern cpu... the GPU has much more variance than what their describing... hence the NV5 instructions say to use more.
About 1mm thick... you cannot read the writing on the core. With some pressure the excess will spread and squeeze out. The NV5 instructions say to be generous... so, err... I dunno, really hard to tell without experience.
Just a guess, but I would say something is wrong with the extra pipes you unlocked, sometimes they work sometimes no go. Also, clock speeds are not the only indicator of performance. After all, these are only fancy calculators... if you begin running out of spec (oc) then you start getting...
