I've chatted with three different Lenovo reps over the past few days and they have all confirmed that Lenovo will not be offering a slice battery for the T440p (and, I assume any of their new ThinkPads).
Deal breaker for me, since I want/need the epic battery life the slice provides (which...
The T440p can connect to the ThinkPad Ultra Dock (40A20090XX), ThinkPad Pro Dock (40A10065XX), or ThinkPad Dock (40A00065).
I did not see a battery slice option (yet) on the T440p config page, but that's become a requirement for me, not just for the insane battery life it provides, but also the...
The HD+ has been fine for me, save for the times when I want a little more breathing room on snapped pages, so I may just end up with it despite being a TN panel.
When I ordered my T420, I had to look up part numbers on what users reported was the "better quality" panel because even though I...
Finally.
Ready to get a T440p, but can't decide if I want the FHD display or not; I have a 1600x900 T420 and at times the text seems too small (I don't really like using the Windows font scaling, either, always looks goofy to me). I can only imagine how small the UI elements would be at 1080p.
Info on the T440p is what I was waiting on. Ethernet IN THE BACK again!

I guess they've moved the speakers to underneath now?
I would love to get a glimpse of this Fall's (proper) T-series lineup, as I'm in the market to get a new ThinkPad. Can't find any solid info at any of the notebook-centric sites, though.
There are a lot of laptops that can PLAY WoW. I have a ThinkPad with Intel HD 3000 graphics and WoW is perfectly playable at native res with everything on low except for view distance, which is set to high.
Just how high do you want the settings?
It's a bit sluggish on my 4S, but people using it on a 5 say it's quite smooth, despite being a beta.
iOS 7 certainly looks "cleaner" in many respects, but it also looks immature in many more. The color palette is garish, so I hope they desaturate like mad before gold.
Despite the changes, as...
I had a problem last fall with a very large refund that went "missing", and after three weeks of back-and-forth between Apple and my bank ("Ask your bank", "No, ask Apple"), I finally sent an email to Tim Cook asking if there was anything he could do.
I didn't get a direct reply from Mr...
Problem though: For me, iTunes seems to (either at times, or always) only "associate" artwork added ex post facto with the music files instead of actually embedding the image into the them.
My method has been to copy the music files into a new folder, use a program like Tag & Rename (Windows...
The main Apple rumor sites now seem to be edging toward the "minor" upgrade "iPhone 4S" instead of an "iPhone 5".
I've read a lot of aggressive comments on forums of people threatening to move to Android if Apple doesn't introduce a radically redesigned iPhone with a 4+ inch screen, or LTE...
I used Google+ for a short while, and I found it to be an even bigger "friend/followers" wank than Facebook ever was. The upside was that troll comments were rare...but if that will continue, we'll now see.
You'll just end up with more headaches trying to piecemeal the OS/apps/settings in.
Write down anything you need to, backup your data (docs, music, etc.), and clean install Windows 7 64-bit.
Clean slate, junk-free system.
I canceled my account back in January and hadn't even thought about the game until the other day when an official Blizzard e-mail informed me by account had been banned for in-game advertising. I logged in to my Battle.net account to see that, somehow, someone had been able to reactivate the...
I hate how many of the blogs---including the Mac-specific blogs---are writing as if he's died. He's basically just officially handed over the reigns to Tim Cook, who's really been the CEO since January anyway.
Their prices had to go up eventually. I'm surprised the streaming price hasn't increased significantly considering the bandwidth used by Netflix. Honestly, I'd pay $80 a month for their streaming service if they jacked it that high. I'm in the minority, it seems, though.
Here's my top three:
1) Hockey puck mouse. Still don't know how that got past ergonomic testing (if there was any).
2) First-gen MacBook Air. It's clear now that it was an experiment that has reaped great rewards, but its first iteration was was dog-slow (it used the same HDD as the iPod, I...
Trying to get @font-face working on my Wordpress blog, but while there are myriad Google results on the code itself, what it does, etc., I cannot find where I'm supposed to paste it within my existing CSS.
Here's the code (via fontsquirrel.com)
@font-face {
font-family: 'ChunkFiveRegular'...
I had the October 2010 11" Air, and I got about 5 hours or so with the brightness set to what I'd estimate to be around 75% or so, and surfing sites with a little YouTube tossed into the mix. When I was just surfing a few sites, doing e-mail, etc. at around 50% brightness, I'd get close to 6.
Personal preference, 'kay, but Classic in Windows 7 looks funky; there's a lot of wasted space and oddball miscellany because of UI elements you can't disable or hide.
Classic in XP was my go-to, but Windows 7 is made for Aero.
