Hey all
I have OCZ 2x1GB 800MHz Platinum sticks in my Gigabyte P35-DS3L motherboard.
I'm mulling over the following options; which do you think would give me the most bang for my buck?
Add 2x 2GB 800MHz OCZ Platinum sticks for a total of 6GB RAM
Exchange with higher performance 2x...
I'm the guy they described in the video with two headsets; one for gaming, and one for music.
For gaming mostly, and sometimes Skype, I have some Microsoft LX-3000's. They serve their purpose as a headset, but somewhat lack at providing a great audio experience. That's why I have the Grado...
So I didn't go out right away and buy a new card (still looking at that 6850 for the future though), and glad i didn't. I had this idea that maybe the card wasn't dusted completely. This time, I took my card out of my mobo and blew compressed air directly across the fins of the heat sink...
I mostly play SC2 these days, but I do a lot of DA:O, COD4, ME2 (and ME3 when it comes out).
The 6850 1 GB and the 460 GTX 768 MB both look pretty good for what I want to do.
OC'ing would be nice if it's a sure thing; any articles you know of off the top of your head where people show...
So 9600 GT I believe my is kicking the can (i.e., speed fan reads the GPU temperature up to 130 C never OC'd. so to work around I took off the side panel of my case and stuck a room fan in the side.) I tried compressed air to clean out dust and used a Q-tip on the blades, but it didn't help...
Hey guys
I currently have

My RAM is Samsung DDR2...
I've read up on them, and the E6750 and the GA-P35-DS3L do seem very nice =)
Since I'm not overclocking, does my choice in RAM really matter?
I'm looking at getting OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz Platinum XTC (2x1024MB)
17" monitor at 1280x1024
I'm not sure if ZZF ships to Canada, I'll have to check that out.
Thanks for the background information on these components, enginurd.
P.S., I'm not really looking at overclocking.
The E6750 looks nice. I'll read some more on it now.
And you recommend the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R because it supports the higher speeds of the E6750.
Is there anything cheaper than that board? It's almost twice as expensive as the one that I'm looking at now.
It's been since Feb. 2003 I've been running my current rig, and amid the constant freezes, reinstalls, and inability to play new games; I need a new one.
Suffice to say, I've been out of the market since then and I'm wondering if this computer makes sense. I'm planning on keeping only my...
For both cpu & mobo I'm looking to spend no more than $500. I've been out of the swing of things for 3 years now and I hope that's enough to buy what I want.
Any budget models would be appreciated.
It's time for another computer upgrade. I was going to buy the game FEAR a while back, but I realized my computer is not good enough anymore.
What CPU + mobo combination would be recommended?
The requirements for FEAR are here
thanks.
I recently purchased a Sony NW-HD5 and am currently... surviving... with this program called Sonicstage.
I own an old MD player which also used sonicstage, and I was hoping that the new version would be better. But it has only grown sour and shittier as time progresses.
Long story short...
I personally found that scene to very well placed, even anti-climactic. After you escape, and you see a combine guard who you think is looking for you, your first thought is 'oh shit i'm dead'. Then he just knocks a can down and makes you pick it up.
First comment, i'd lower the pitch of the soudn that is made when you click on a new menu. it can get annoying to the ear. other than that, what i skimmed through seemed pretty good
There is a game I am planning on writing during the course of the year for a school project, and I was recommened to use Java. From what I can gather, it is fairly easy to get a hold of so I should be able to start programming relatively quickly.
However, before I start, I must know this...
I'm acquiring a 9600 pro 128 from a guy off through another forum (not oc'ed) and i was wondering about the Omega driver flash. Please post success/failure stories that you (or know someone) has encountered. Or other tips of advice. thanks.
i never claimed to have experience besides my 2 years of Pascal use. The reason I say pascal is 'largely useless' is from the university students that graduated from my school and all relate to me how useless it is. That is my only source, i have never really endevoured to learn much beyond my...
Sorry if i was vauge, but my first need is to transfer my Pascal syntax into VB syntax (or another language that you may have suggested)
My second is to find out how to read input from controllers attached to my computer. The catch with this part is that they must be able to control 3...
Hello, I have made a project for this summer to write a game for a project due next year for school which will save me a lot of time. (I will be in grade 12 next year) The problem being, I want to write a game, and the only language that i know is pascal (taught only at my school) I have deemed...
The difference between stock thermal compund and something such as Arctic silver, is that AS will probably drop your CPU temp about 2 degrees celsiuus.
Anyone who claims more than that is a fool, lying, or both.
there is nothing wrong with stock thermal compound
This setup is imo poor. We bought one several months ago, it has not failed on us or had any difficulties, but the keyboard is really crappy, and the speaker volume knob only changes the right speaker's volume and the left is completely uncontrollable. Stay away from this setup.
