I've got an S panel from launch. High resolution movies look great, but if you're going lower-res be sure you sit back away from the monitor a bit. The colors are very vibrant and dark after some tweaking. I notice some black-light-bleed from the top and bottem but only in the darkness. My...

Bought that Neo-Flex stand from Stapples. It holds very well, and is muuucccchhhh better than that piece of junky plasticy slapped on by Samsung. Highly recommend it :)
Can tilt, swivel, go up and down, etc etc. I believe it can even by rotated into portrait mode but the monitor may be a...
I've had the monitor for a couple of days now, and I am enjoying it a good bit. I really need to tinker around with the colors and such a bit, but so far it looks nice. Very vibrant colors, and the brightness is top notch. No apparent input lag in games (CoD2, CSS, Supreme Commander, etc). Only...
Just for future reference, wwww.widescreengamingforum.com has a master list describing (for most games) if a game has widescreen, and if so what type it is. Very helpful to help in purchasing decisions! :)
Have a good one,
GF
That stand looks pretty cool, but according to their website it is only meant for monitors up to 20" (or recommended at least). Do you have any problems using it with this one?
I have one and you can tilt it backwards and forwards (towards and away from you). You can also swivel the base pretty well, so that you can pivot it to the left and right fairly easily. However, it does not move up and down nor can you rotate it around for a portrait type mode.
Suffice to...
The big box was beat-up quite a bit. However, the monitor box was pretty well padded and looked fine. It seems like they used a box almost 2-3x as big as the monitor's to house it. It did arrive here a day earlier than expected, but still took 10 days from the day I ordered so... but I suppose...
Another Update:
Well, seems to be working fine now. I think it just needed a chance to warm-up after a weekend or two in a cold factory in the snowy hills of West Virginia. Anyways, the monitor looks very crisp, if you're at the right resolution. By default, it stretchs out lower resolutions...
Update on my situation: Well, the problem still occurs for me; what a pain, essentially I can't go into any games without the monitor bugging out and making me wait 10 minutes and then powering it back on. Called the Samsung guys and they said its broken. Must have been the 10 days in transit, I...
Mine came in today; its an S with no apparent dead pixels upon first check.
My one problem, however, is this: it is stuck on one resolution! Whenever I change resolutions, I'll get a brief flicker of the screen at the new resolution and then the screen just goes blank. I have to then turn it...
I did the same thing you mention :( By the time it gets here, it will have been around 10-12 days since I ordered it. I don't plan on returning it; I'll at least fire it up and see how it is. I'll tell you if it was damaged at all during shipping when I finally get it (today or tomorrow).
Interesting question :)
Personally, and I'm not sure if this is "correct," but I'd take it out of the packaging and just let it sit until it was room temperature. But you may be fine plugging it in right away, hard to tell. Just feel how cold it is and use your best judgement :)
Yes -- you can have your engineers or commander "assist" the building that is producing and they will "beam it" (that's what it looks like anyways) reducing the time :)
I was doing some more research today and I'm thinking about picking up the BenQ FP241W. From what I read, its a better 24" than the Dell 2407 and only downside being no 1:1 pixel mapping -- which doesn't really apply to me as Nvidia cards can do that through their drivers (or something like...
Interesting... looks as if that is a rather decent 22"er. $380 on the 'Egg (free shipping through PayPal as well till Xmas) and it seems as if it has no input lag ala the 215. The shots on the thread look pretty decent as well:

My biggest question is about paying that much vs getting a larger screen. I have a pretty large budget so either is viable but I'm not really sure if getting a low quality yet bigger one would be as good as a smaller yet super display. Is the extra 4" and extra resolution "worth it" compared to...
The 215 Sammy looks pretty good but from the reviews I've read the issue of input lag has come up lots and lots, wouldn't really get that panel simply from the research I've done :-/
As far as TN: I'm running on a TN now and to be honest I think it looks pretty good (last thing I had was a...
Yeah, definitly check www.widescreengamingforum.com if you havn't already. They have a nice table to compare features and they have links to in- and out- of house reviews. And of course the massive 30+ page posts on here :)
Oh and apparently the NEC has a TV tuner? That is sort of cool, don't...

I'm in quite a similar situation. Sitting with a pretty decent (for when it was made) 17" square Viewsonic and was looking at all the ones you mentioned at the top. These LCDs are really a pain in the neck to research as it seems like for every person with a glowing review theres...
The Egg seems to be sold out of these... but they do have the VG2030WM in stock. Is the VG comparable to the VX? Any real differences for the better or worse?
Cheers!

Edit: Oh and would it be worth another $50 on top to grab the 22" version instead?
Having some problems deciding which to buy. Both have roughly equal specs and prices and from the pictures I've seen on the web, I can't really tell ones picture from the others (they both look good :D).
Right now I'm working on an older ViewSonic 17" 4:3. It is ok but I want something...
What are considered the top notch 19-21" widescreen displays now-a-days? I don't really want to spend more than $400 so that might restrict things a tiny bit.
Are the 2007 wides from Dell really that bad?
GF
So if you end up running games in a different aspect ratio do they end up being swished or does it put bars on the sides or what? How distracting is it?
Right now I'm sitting with a Viewsonic VP171b that's around 1-3 years old. I'm buying a new computer and I think I might grab a new LCD to go with it. My question is how good are widescreens? Any resolution problems with games? Do they generally have less response time than 4:3 or other "square"...
I have a pair of HD580s that I really enjoy. Probably not the latest thing out though.
And yes, if you're getting a pair of expensive headphones it makes no sense to stick with shoddy sounding onboard audio. Definitly grab a highend Creative card.
These are all collectors editions. Generally they are a mixed bag, be sure to check DVDTalk.com for decent reviews. I picked up Magnolia and Leon myself; might grab Se7en and Memento while I'm at it...
I'm getting almost the exact same thing! I've got a Centurion 5 though and a Liteon Burner. Still need to pick exactly which processor and ram I'll be getting though.
Have fun! :D
