The "integrity of the game" reasoning is just laughable. Blizzard themselves have gone out of their way to state that D3 is a completely soloable game. If so, then why not have an offline only mode that doesn't fuck with the multiplayer side at all?

I only played a couple hours of the beta so I'm not very familiar with the whole blacksmith/crafting/upgrade side of things. Does anyone know of any good guides for this or is it pretty straight forward once you get farther into the game?

I only had a few minutes to play, but I fired it up on my 3x1 Eyefinity rig and it works... though it is stretched a bit. It's not perfect but it looks like it'll be playable even if it doesn't get any better with some tweaking.

Has anyone in the beta played & enjoyed the Barbarian? I never got into the other Diablo games before, but in MMOs I tend to enjoy the big, powerful, melee/tank type of characters. I see a lot of people saying they like Monk for melee... anyone think Barbarians are fun though?

I'll readily admit that because WoW was my first MMO, I have some very fond memories of it that no MMO will be able to match/surpass until something truly revolutionary comes along... think Holo-Deck most likely. However, those fond memories of a different game aren't to blame for why TOR fails.

Same here. They could fix almost all of the really egregious bugs and I still wouldn't care enough at this point to keep an active subscription. There's just nothing all that compelling to keep people around for very long.

While I would never want to go back to a pre-LFG state in a MMO, I readily agree that some of the open world confrontations that went down back in the day were truly memorable. I just don't see LFG as being the real reason why you don't see much of that anymore. I mean in SWTOR, hardly...

The loading screens aren't the only thing making it feel that way though. Get rid of all the loading screens and just have the hyperspace between different planets... still doesn't change the fact that the zones you play in all feel completely sectioned off (any have almost no one in them)...

I thought both games were a ton of fun but I haven't played either one in months so I can't say which one I'd prefer at the moment what with all the patches I've missed and everything. With that said, at launch BC2 actually felt like a bigger step forward for the genre than BF3 was at its launch.
