The quality of their product may be fine, but I have a lot of information at this point that indicates that they're improperly claiming parts as being compatible where they're not - at least in my case. I'm still investigating and I'll post mea culpas all over the place if I'm wrong, but it...
I'd agree, *except* that Corsair states on their website that's it's compatible. They don't say it's 'compatible, but only two sticks at a time' - they just say compatible. If they state that, but it's not actualy the case, then that's false advertising, which is wrong and illegal. See...
Actually, I didn't mistake them - I just noticed this guy has the same mobo as I do, so I thought I'd warn him of the problem I'm having.
I would agree with you that Crucial is very good - I've probably bought 400 - 500 sticks over the years and I've had maybe one or two problems. They're my...
Sorry about the reading - I kinda wanted to open some discussion not just on my problem, but a perceived problem (in the cases listed) of memory manufacturers being sloppy or possibly negligent with compatibility qualifications, in addtion to my personal issue. The former is a larger deal in my...
Settings have always been at default (command rate default is 2T). As I stated in my original post, I want to have the box running in a stabla default configuration for a few weeks before I start tweaking.
Are the DIMMs double-sided? How many chips? In certain circumstances, I have seen motherboards only find half the RAM on a module if don't support double-sided or 16-chip DIMMs. The machines ran fine (knock on wood), but they never found all of the RAM.
Are your DIMMs 8-chip or 16-chip?
I'm not familiar with your MSI board, however, since the memory controller is on the Athlon64, your problem may be similar to mine (if your DIMMs are 16-chip):

Ok, I'm going to ask you [H]ardForum types if I'm smoking crack. Some history (please bear with me here):
I'm building a new system. I've been building & upgrading systems since the days when overclocking meant seeing how high your 6MHz 8086 chip could go by soldering in new clock crystals...
