Perhaps you are dealing with dreaded microstutter and crossfire driver issues.. I had dual 6870's that supposedly ran the game over 60 FPS at nearly all times, but it felt like it ran like crap.. It wasn't till I popped in the 670 that I really experienced smooth and flawless gameplay.

+1 Furmark maxes out at 72c for me.

Guys, some people have reported errors with the EVGA tool and setting clocks/ stability. I recommend using MSI's afterburner which has been more stable for me. Not in terms of squeezing more out of my card, but in terms of applying the offset changes consistently.

670 GTX is a monster.. Should allow you to run BF3 maxed out at 1080P. Don't skimp on storage either, an SSD drive should be part of the build.

Love AMD- I really do. But with microstutter, I would be a bit concerned with a dual GPU solution.. I would go dual 670's.. They should have no problem at all handling that rez.. Perhaps you should wait until the 4GB cards come out though.

Sounds like a defective card. I simply uninstalled my AMD drivers and installed the 670 and had no driver or issues whatsoever.. Didn't even use Driver Sweeper

But if it's already locking up with a GPU offset of 100, with power consumption apparently at 70, will boosting that up to 110 have any impact?

Ok- Messed around with clock.. Max offset for me was +76.. Clock of 1215. Machine would hard lock with anything over.. Quick question - Do I need to mess around with "power target" if the OSD shows anywhere from 60-70% usage? What is the point in boosting past 100% if the card never goes over 70?

One more thing that is strange.. Looks like BF3, with vsync disabled and everything maxed, including 4xMSAA, GPU usage is only 60-65%. Is that normal? 1080p

One more thing.. Sorry again for the newbage.. But Adaptive VSYNC alone makes this worth it.. Zero input lag and no need to limit framerate in BF3 with it. Amazing. I just played for 30 minutes and my case remained silent. Even my sub-par Coolermaster 750 PS remained silent..
