I purchased a Sharp TV that also had a loud, whining noise. I know they are completely different products, but in speaking with Sharp they said a loud, high pitched noise could be a sign of future component failure. I swapped mine out.
Just ignore the trolls.
They are the same idiots that ignore ISIS, beheadings throughout the middle east, suicide bombings, women's rights issues in Muslim countries (honor killing, genital mutilation, being murdered for getting raped), gays being murdered for being gay and countless other...
I was out of PC gaming for a while after I bored myself of Counter Strike and never bothered to upgrade my PC. 4 years without touching a PC game. A year and a half ago I finally upgraded and starting playing BF3.. When I saw the trailer for BF4, I kept thinking that it was way too soon to...
I've never seen temps that high for a 670.. In fact, the highest I've seen someone else post was around 80c.
Sounds like you either have a defective sensor, defective fans, or that the thermal compound wasn't applied correctly to the video card and heatsink
The problem isn't gaming - It's us.
We are now part of a generation that needs instant gratification. From twitter feeds, to Facebook, to glancing at articles, we have lost the patience we used to have. Every bit of information is instant. When was the last time you read an entire article on...
Anybody figure this out?
Reason I ask is that I'm having a small, random amount of stutter in BF3 Close Quarters and someone mentioned to set it to 1 in the NV control panel...
Perhaps you are dealing with dreaded microstutter and crossfire driver issues.. I had dual 6870's that supposedly ran the game over 60 FPS at nearly all times, but it felt like it ran like crap.. It wasn't till I popped in the 670 that I really experienced smooth and flawless gameplay.
Respectfully have to disagree..
The graphics are OK, nothing earth shattering. If you disable MSAA you can run at over 120FPS with current hardware.
The controls are clunky and entire game is scripted. The enemy AI is nothing to write home about.
I really wanted to love this game. I...
It's BF3 for me and nothing else..
Love the weapons.. Been addicted to the F2000 lately, but I greatly enjoy the SKS, the VAL, PKP...
I started playing around with the AN-94 and quickly fell in love with it too, despite initial frustrations with the spray.. For whatever reason, once I...
Hate to bring up the S word, but I'm starting to think Max Payne flat out sucks..
I thought it would be a good break from BF3 but I don't see myself playing much more unless the experience gets better..
Sorry to bump this old post.. I finally got around to playing Max Payne 3 this weekend and after an hour feel very BLAH about it.. The graphics seem dated compared to BF3, the gameplay is slow, and there is no wow factor.
I'm shocked because the general consensus for Max Payne 3 has been...
Guys, some people have reported errors with the EVGA tool and setting clocks/ stability.
I recommend using MSI's afterburner which has been more stable for me. Not in terms of squeezing more out of my card, but in terms of applying the offset changes consistently.
Love AMD- I really do. But with microstutter, I would be a bit concerned with a dual GPU solution.. I would go dual 670's.. They should have no problem at all handling that rez.. Perhaps you should wait until the 4GB cards come out though.
Sounds like a defective card. I simply uninstalled my AMD drivers and installed the 670 and had no driver or issues whatsoever.. Didn't even use Driver Sweeper
Ok- Messed around with clock.. Max offset for me was +76.. Clock of 1215. Machine would hard lock with anything over..
Quick question - Do I need to mess around with "power target" if the OSD shows anywhere from 60-70% usage? What is the point in boosting past 100% if the card never goes over 70?
I'm an idiot.. The on screen display for the EVGA tool displays power % first, not GPU usage..
My GPU usage was 98%..
I'm in shock that a single card solution runs BF3 maxed out at 1080P with no lag.. So much better than my 6870's in crossfire.. The microstutter was so annoying.
I don't...
One more thing that is strange.. Looks like BF3, with vsync disabled and everything maxed, including 4xMSAA, GPU usage is only 60-65%. Is that normal?
1080p
One more thing.. Sorry again for the newbage.. But Adaptive VSYNC alone makes this worth it.. Zero input lag and no need to limit framerate in BF3 with it. Amazing.
I just played for 30 minutes and my case remained silent. Even my sub-par Coolermaster 750 PS remained silent..
Just got my 670, Gigabyte. Card is a beast... AND SILENT!! It hasn't breached 60c after 15 minutes of Furmark.. Amazing!!
BF3 looks great @60FPS 4xMSAA and adaptive VSYNC.
Sorry for the noob question, but what do you guys recommend in terms of managing the card? The drivers do not contain...
Or people saw the Sapphire 7970 OC / Non-Ref card price drop to $449.99 and realized that for $50 more they could get AMD's flagship which seems to be more future proof and overlclocks like a monster...
Jeez... 7970 for 449.99 on the Egg with free shipping.... No reference..

Feeling like I made a mistake moving so fast on the Gigabyte 670.. At $449.99 with this amount of overclocking headroom you are getting a heck of a deal...
Tiger Direct executives and CompUSA executives are under investigation for theft and shady business practices.
Sounds to me like they figured they could beat Newegg to the punch by posting up the product before they had stock. Typical Tiger/CompUSA tactic. Consumers get screwed because by the...
Wooooooooooooooooooooooohoooooooooooooooooooo
Now the bad news... I was hoping to work from home all day and just had a client confirm an appointment tomorrow afternoon. This is a potentially huge account so I can't reschedule.. With my luck FedEx will show up in the 2 hour window when I'm...
Couldn't resist the non reference 670 Gigabyte.. Too much horsepower for $80 less.. Let's hope this puppy overclocks as well as some of the early reviews have claimed.
Amazon had them up for literally 10 minutes.. I ordered mine overnight and made the cut.. Keep checking.
Killer deal - 680 PCB, tri-fan setup, overclocking beast.. Don't know why someone would select the EVGA reference design over the Gigabyte or Asus design.
Ordered the Gigabyte on Amazon, upgraded to overnight.. Total out the door- 418.00!!
So glad I got 340 for both of my 6870's - For essentially $80 I am now going to be flying with no noise, less power draw and NO MICROSTUTTER!!!! WOOOOOOOOT!!
I forgot to mention this as well... 4xMSAA here I...
