Update:
I'm not going to lie... I bought a new keyboard last week and it came with a trial version of WoW. I've been playing it ever since. It's actually quite fun. I've even let the fps's slide to the back. It's unfortunate that you can't move your character from server to server though...
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder yada yada yada. I actually like it... it's just going to take me a day or two to get used to it. I guess I should have installed the beta.
you wear the badges around the neck because that's the easiest way for them to be visable. it's an easy way for the organizers to tell the difference between someone who is supposed to be there and those who are not. you don't want some random person walking in off of the street walking away...
The Star Wars game actually is peaking my interest. I would be somewhat hesitant to get into WOW now if I would just switch over to the Star Wars game when it comes out. Did I read this right that it may not be out until spring of 2011? That's a long time to wait. I could just go back to...
i started playing heroes, but didn't really get too into it due to cod lan'ing etc...
i'm back now with a little bit of time to kill at night in the wee hours before going to bed and i would rather spend it on a mmo type game rather than just pubbing source. if diablo 3 isn't a mmo, then what...
What will be the next WoW like game? Or is there even one on the horizon? I'm thinking about jumping into a game like that, but I don't want to start WoW now since everyone is so far into the game. Is there another one coming down the pipeline that is similar/or will pull the same amount of...
At work we are trying to move away from Novell and it's products (Groupwise messenger... already dropped groupwise). We are moving to pidgin for IM and outlook for email.
I may give l4d2 a try since it's so cheap, but bc2 will have to wait. It's unfortunate, because it seems to be the game that everyone is playing at lans these days. Oh well... time to save up.
Well that definitely answers my question. Looks like I can save some money then and just keep chugging away at the games that i have until I can save up enough money for a new computer... oh and some new components for my bike :) .
That's what i figured. If I see 2 more gig of ram on the cheap then I'll snatch it up... other than that, I'll just wait and hold off to build the ultimate machine rather than slowly wasting money on this one. Would I have any dx issues with these newer games?
My current gaming rig's specs are in my sig. My question is will I be able to play any of the current games (bad company 2, just cause, l4d2 etc... ) and still have fun. Will I even be able to play these games with my older hardware? Should I just save my money and build a new computer later...
Was overly addicted (competitive nature) to fps's. My wife gave me the ultimatum to quit or don't get married.... so I quit cold turkey a couple of years ago. It was actually a good thing. I started biking and getting other stuff done like having a baby (imo... a lot more rewarding than...
i believe there are other programs that can handle your mouse button mappings per application... i can't be of any help with the names or links though. i would search the forums. i know i have read something on here in regards to what you are looking for.
A quick question...
Did you bind your button in setpoint to a keystroke and the key that throws the grenade, or did you just go into the game and click the mouse button in the settings in game to throw the grenade? I would set the keystroke to that side button in setpoint if you haven't...
in call of duty, if you have a constant framerate, then your bullets go where they are supposed to. if your frames are jumping around and spiking all over the place, then no telling where your shots are going.... plus in cod, you can jump to certain areas if you are capped at say 125 fps or 333...
Soujiro - thanks... that's exactly what i was looking for!
Fantasysage - frames that aren't jumping around = better reg, right? or am i just porting over my old cod knowledge into a game where that doesn't matter?
No need to thread crap here...
I recently installed Windows 7 which dropped my frames. I want a solid frame rate of around 100... and if I don't put in my standard stuff like cl_ragdoll blah blah 0 and fps max of 100 or something like that, then my frames jump all over the place. I'm not...
Does anyone know where the config file is for CS: Source? I can't seem to find it. I have a few commands that help my frames like turning off ragdoll etc... that I'm tired of having to type that in everytime I start the game. Any suggestions?
my icemat is as smooth as can be also, but it does pick up dust etc... that will quickly turn it into sandpaper. did you ever put the teflon (or something like that) tape that comes with them on your mouse?
I'm glad these questions come up... per my post count and my forever lurking the forums, I tend to not post my questions. I think I'm somewhat similar, but I have the 1GB card. It sounds like I should just wait and update my pc too in the somewhat near future.
I played COD, COD2 and COD4 professionally before taking an extended break, and I just downloaded the new one on steam this weekend for their free weekend play and imo it's not like it used to be. It feels all battlefieldy. I guess there is some truth to brand loyalty, but the talent has left...
not sure what the prices of the giants are these days, but my tcr from 08 cost me roughly 1200. i'm sure they are higher in price now. the giant defy's are the intro level and they are just as good as the old tcr's from a couple of years ago. beware though. a bike that is around a grand...
