Dedicated gaming rig is still Windows 7. Will upgrade eventually, just can't bother to put the effort into it. Really I'm just procrastinating. I have no issues with Windows 10. My Windows 7 rig works exactly as I want it too. So why start over?
Still mean to switch to 10. Clean install is no biggie since o keep my Steam folder on a separate drive. Nothing much else gets on the only Windows system at home.
I found it funny that on Steam it uses the keyboard heavly. Being a BPM + Xbox 360 controller gamer it worked perfectly fine. The environments are nice, but dull as that there is much going on. I never saw any other players too, except at the main hub. Maybe cause I just hustled off to the Beta...
If it included like movies and tv I would give it a serious consideration. As it is no, I don't believe Youtube creators are worth a monthly subscription. I usually don't see Google Ads since I rarely use the official site or app. Most of the Youtube channels I use are news, or they have paid...
Put in a few hours yesterday with the new patch and effects. Didn't notice much with the weapon effects, but I wasn't really paying attention. HBAO+ looked nice though.
I think the benefit of this board is the chipset, and all the whiz bang Asus features.
Just checked Intel's Ark, some of the E3-1200 v5 CPU's support hypertheading. Like this one:

I really want to purchase a few Pi Zero's its dirt cheap and perfect to build some arcade units from it with MAME. Don't need Ethernet for that.
If I needed higher connectivity onboard the other Pi's are dirt cheap too.
Looking forward when the Pi Zero is back in regular stock supply. :)
Extortian. There is plenty of websites that take public record information and post it online, and will only remove the information you pay out of pocket to take it off the site.
Honestly for all non vital video content, ie. servers. Use VNC, RDP, nomachine, xwindows, ssh, http, whatever to remote display them on the PC connected to your TV.
Hell get a shitty laptop to handle your remote access needs for server managment.
Before Kickstarter existed, there was the Open Pandora project. A very unique system.

Seems the same crew is working on a new version. Dragonbox Pyra

Attempt #2 with your choice of case, and i5 build. Not bad...

I don't know much about AMD / Chipsets but I based it on that because I too feel the pain of the Canadian dollar right now. :D
Also I switched you up to a MATX motherboard in a Corsair Air 240 case. It's still a small case, and portablish (no handle). I use one myself.
Have no idea what Vuugo...
Whats your budget OP?
Wanna do budget? K,..
H97 itx board
i5 non K processor
2x8GB DDR3 1600 (honestly 2x4GB is most you may need, or do 1x8GB for now)
GPU ... Pick one. LOL
PSU Corsair Buidler 600w (look you are not gonna be putting a two GPU's in it).
Case .. Corsair or Silverstone ITX case...
Does it have to be rackmount?
The U-Nas NSC-800 is 8 hotswap drives, mini itx support, 1 expansion full size expansion slot.

You have to add your own 1u PSU.
It's a pretty nice kit IMO.
I didn't read the article, or the study. So I'll throw my input in like everyone else.
I think what it is showing hardware sales with an OS.
Most people on Windows computers don't replace the hardware when a new version comes out. And definetly not with the Microsofts push with free upgrades...
I think it will take some time for Google to get Android devices getting security fixes on a timely manner. Its not setup in a way for all manufacturers to get timely security security fixes out. Googles needs to rethink how handle the fragmentation. I would be happy if they locked down the...
I would say MS has money and support to provide for DX12 to developers. Two very successful platforms Windows and Xbox One.
The good thing about Vulkan is that its platform open.
So it really comes down to what target audience the developer / publisher is aiming for, and what long term...
Prefer if my systems go unnoticed, especially by me. If I hear or see something I worry something has gone wrong. Haha. So yeah no bling, understated case. No windows. No noise. No lights (half the time I don't bother hooking up the front panel LEDs).
Thanks for the review, the special note about the SATA / USB issue, and requirement of needing the NIC drivers on hand. The NIC driver issue would be my biggest pet peeve.
Been mulling the idea of getting the lesser equipped i3 version for HTPC frontend use, and later getting the Tranquil PC...
My phone is packing about 16GB of offline Spotify content. The application has a simple caching preference for how much space to use. It's not hard for an application to figure out how space there is and if content will fit.
It would be nice to have offline playback feature with say Netflix...
This got me excited, then did some research, and found out my online retailer is not doing that.
Oh well. The promo was never part of my purchasing consideration anyways. I sent them request anyways. :D
You can just use an active HDMI splitter to capture the video stream unencrypted. The second port will be unencrypted. This has been known for a very long time.
Does anyone bother with per core overclocking? I wish reviews did it. I understand I could get some minor higher clocks on on the 1st and 2nd core. Currently I'm at 4.6ghz ( i5-4690K ) only all 4 cores. Intel by default all ready sets each core at different clocks, from higher to lower based on...
