Looking at the manual for the mobo it makes no mention of an Aux 6 pin power connector, however if you need a psu with all three connectors pc power & cooling will add any connector you need to any of their psu's for a small charge.
I'm also a legacy att customer....if you don't want the latest phone check out a nokia 6310i....you just can't kill them, and are available on ebay. If you want the latest check out the nokia E50
Before I updated to the 3.4, I had a 2.6 in my comp.....you really should have no problem pushing it to fsb of 225 or 230 with the right memory at a 1:1 divider, just don't go over 1.6V Some good UTT or TCCD (BH-5 if you can find it) running at pc3500-3700 should do the trick. The 2.6 was an...
If I'm not mistaken the Intel Pressler 930 ($357) and 940 ($460) are both available on newegg for under $1000 and should work nicely with the mobo you selected. From what I gather water cooling should not be needed since the 65nm proc runs much cooler than the prescott (90nm) However a good...
My vote goes for the Mushkin Redline....excellent reviews, the newer versions run at "normal" voltages under 3.0V and you can buy them directly from Mushkin with their usual lifetime warrenty and outstanding customer service and support. ( and,no I don't have any affiliaion to Mushkin, just a...
A psu that dies on you can take out almost any component in your system. Recently I've noticed a higher percentage of mobo's and cpu's.....but they are all fair game to a failed psu. Generally a psu manufacter will test their units and rate them by MTBF....Mean Time Before Failure, usually its...
Looks like your a bit cpu limited....I had a 2.6C before I upgraded to the current 3.4....loved the 2.6, it ran cool and OC'd very well. Even still you should with your gpu and 2.6 and 1Gb of memory should do fine with BF2/FEAR. If your memory/mobo is up to the task and you have adequate...
Your lack of ram is definitley part of your problem, 1Gb would be fine for the games you listed, 2Gb would be ideal for BF2 for sure and I suspect for FEAR as well.....however since you didn't list all your components, it is possible that you are also cpu limited, you may be using onboard sound...
Just go to one of the more reputable online retailers like....Newegg , Tigerdirect or Zipzoomfly Also in the case of Epson, HP, or Plextor, you can buy directly from their website.
Just go to Aircraft Spruce & Specialty they will sell all types of aluminum at good prices, and you can get them shipped in 2 X 4 or larger sheets. For your case you may want to use some "L" stock to reinforce the corners, I'd reccomend some Alclad 2024-T3, in .032 or .040 thickness, 7075 would...
I would reccomend the Asus P4C800-E Deluxe over the P4PXX which seems to be suffering from some bad southbridge chips affecting the front usb ports.....the P4C800-E deluxe does not have this issue and is an excellent mobo in combo with your cpu, also and excellent OC'er
1998 when I was 27, I built my very first comp from the ground up ! Though I'd been "messing" with them since 1982...an Apple IIc and Comodore PET in Jr. HS....ah, life before windows !
The NEC burner is a good one, so is the Plextor 716... as for mfp's anything by Epson (first choice) or HP in your price range would do very well overall.
That would depend on what memory you have, it would also be easier to supply that voltage using the ocz booster, provided your mobo is on the compatability list. Not all memory responds to higher voltage (Mushkin redline for example loves more voltage)
Newer mobo's (socket 775 etc.) require a 24 in connector to supply power to the motherboard, older mobo's (socket 478 etc) required a 20 pin connector. These connectors are found on the power supplies....older spec power supplies came with the 20 pin connector, nessitating the need for a 20 pin...
For a little bit more ($99) you could get the Antec Sonata II its very quiet, very good cooling (without the cpu duct) and comes with a decent psu (450W)
I also use a damp microfibre cloth, however a clean damp unprinted cotton cloth will do in a jam...you can find the microfibre cloth at most computer stores, comp-usa etc. Paper towels can scratch your screen.
That's true, the Asus mobo and the Intel mobo you list are both excellent mobo's...however if you have absolutely no intention of ever overclocking go with they Intel mobo, there'll be less to tweak with in the bios and drive you nuts.
I have an Asus V9999GT videocard, and would like to improve the cooling over the stock cooler on the card. I already have a Zalman VF700-Cu from my older card. Of the two choices: Zalman VF700-Cu vs NV Silencer, which one would offer the best cooling.
sounds like you have two issues, I suspect that your current video card is overheating.....and as for your ghosting, chances are you are using a LCD flat screen with more than a 8ms response time in which case changing video cards would not resolve that
Yes you will see a 3-5% loss in performance, you will run without PAT and at 2T timings, nor will you be able to OC as well as if you had just 2 X 512. It will also require you to up the ddr ref voltage up from what ever you are at now to say 2.75 or 2.85 to remain stable, which may or may not...
Chances are you will be using such devices while driving....thus you need to be able to hear what is happening on the road. There is no need to hear a phone convo in stereo (your regular house phones are mono)
It is not uncommon for Corsair memory to require more voltage than they advertise, but expecting a 1gig module to OC.....thats not likely to get much better since 1gig dimms don't OC well, I'd clock it down to 217 and enjoy the slight OC and stability. I doubt you will have any issues running...
FYI....if you read the Mushkin website, it clearly states that the redline modules require a system that can supply 3.1V+. Of course you could always use the OCZ Booster if need be. You will also need adequate cooling if you do go that route.
I have a 6070....the rear fan is an exhaust fan, the two in the front pull in cool air ! they are quiet fans, and I have since replaced them with panaflo H1A's....keeps the noise down but ups the airflow...I have no problem with cooling now ! Just remember the intake is under the front usb ports...
