    Neptune 2s wear and tear?

I've had my neptune 2s setup as my go to printer that printed solid (and non stop sometimes) for over a year, but now, it's constantly failing to complete jobs. Everything that does finish comes out stringy, regardless of the type or age of the filament. I replaced the ptfe tubing hoping it...

Fs/t 9700k and 970 water cooled rig. ATL area.

Not looking to part out yet. I can commute to sell/trade. I am wanting to trade for a Ryzen cpu upgrade the wife's pc from the 2600 I have in it now and 16gb of ram. I'm not sure of what the system is worth at this point, so I'll throw a $600 tag on it. :) I'm not using it much so I'm open to...

    Need some LR/PTP help

What is limiting the ability to hardwire? Running cheap cat5 along the rafters of a greenhouse? Daisy chaining multiple wireless points is never likely to be bullet proof; however, if heat is a manageable issue, some older/cheap ddwrt routers set as repeaters along the way may be able to do...

How do I stop my Mom from using her 120 GB SSD for pictures too instead of just Windows and Applications?

The primary reason to keep them separate is if there is any issue with the OS, hardware, malware, viruses, etc ... it is increasingly difficult to save/recover. you can asign a different drive to user folders, but if it doesn’t have a slot, you can look into one of the mini flash drives...

I think my motherboard is toast

I had to rma a board with MSI a few years ago and it was a positive experience. I would agree with the above. Bench test to be sure, but it's coming out anyway at this point. The rma I did was on a used board, that I openly admitted to bending a pin on. I paid $10 to ship it out, and they...

What was your 1st 3D video card ?

Ti 4600. I was somewhere between 16 and 18 and have not since bought a video card new. Not that I regret that purchase, but life...maybe one day, but I’ll always have fond memories of being top dog on graphics at UT lan parties. I was a terrible player so I had to have some reason to feel...

    How to handle this situation....

If he re pasted it before there were major issues than he modified the product and you can more than defend that to Paypal. If there were voiced concerns, and the re paste was a decision made to resolve whatever his issues were...you are probably better off doing the return to whatever terms...

Mobile phone for backup internet source?

Who’s your primary cell provider? Tmobile does free line promos all the time. I’d be curious to how hard it’d be to have a phone set to be a backup modem. as for ups, depends on how often the ups side is used, and the environment it’s in. I’d say for something you need to depend on, I would...

    280 vs 240 Radiators

Fwiw, my reply wasn’t intended as a direct response to yours, you just got to the post button before me. I had no intention to troll. :) I’ve been running a gpu and cpu pair on the same 280mm radiator for over 10 years. Intel, amd, nvidia, didn’t matter much what I went with that particular...

    280 vs 240 Radiators

In case no one has actual experience or numbers to share; I would suspect just going from 240 to 280 will have very little performance gains. Maybe going to a higher fpi count and a better sp fan in addition to the new radiator might make it a solid upgrade though.

    Oil addition to loop?

My reservoirs always just look stagnant. Flow in, flow out, once the bubbles are bled, at most I’d get a little wiggle at startup. I would think visible water turbulence would introduce air bubbles.

Help Finding GTX 260 Water Blocks?

You can check here: https://www.ekwb.com/configurator/ To see which might fit, but 99% of the time, only the top end like the 280 or 280ti of that gen would have had a full coverage block. You’ll want to look for a universal block. I put one on a 760 not too long ago just for fun. It did the...

Using Wireless Controls (IOT) Without Internet.

I’m pretty sure all of it has to phone home for operation. Maybe zwave stuff? I don’t know much about that system but it seems closed enough you might be able to set it up on a sub lan that doesn’t feed out to the internet? Otherwise you’ll need to create a “server” to mimic the outside...

    Oil addition to loop?

You're right about it coming a long way. Old thermal take green was some nasty stuff. This is a htpc/plex server that runs 24/7. The dyes tend to change hue after a couple of months so I have to flush it way more often. I only disliked the mayhems because it wasn't worth the work to maintain the...

    Oil addition to loop?

The main goal that sparked the idea was to add flare to the boring reservoir without dyes. Also, looking to dabble in hard line, all the pteg is clear tubing. Even a small amount of clear vegetable oil to just see something move through it might liven it up without the need for dye. (Again...

    Oil addition to loop?

That just proves flow. Idk. I was looking at some big reservoirs thinking it would be neat to get a lava lamp like flow to it, but I would definitely be worried about the sludge problem. The filtration idea was a side thought of a possible thing. It coating things would be terrible. I'd rather...

    Oil addition to loop?

That's what I was considering. Just to see if it worked at all. I also thought that's a good bit of work if it's completely stupid and someone else has already tried it. Lol I'll probably give it a whirl this weekend with some spare parts and see what happens. I'd mostly be concerned with oil...

    Oil addition to loop?

I googled a bit, but didn't find anything so maybe it's just a really dumb idea. I thought I'd seek some [H] experience before rigging a test loop to try it. Would there be any downside to adding a splash of oil into a water loop? Why add it? Well oil and water don't mix. With good flow, a...

    UK looking to ban scalpers

As said above: The best way to stop scalpers is to stop buying from them. I have no idea why government should be interested in this outside of tax collection. Maybe make a re-sale tax. Any item retail bought to be re sold as is gets taxed by x? I’ve never bought any electronic hardware at...
