"The Red Power 2 mod for Minecraft has recently been updated, and it adds a fully emulated 6502 processor that can be programmed in assembly, but comes with a Forth interpreter. From the article:
Fair disclosure: The video linked in the article is mine"
Since I've used this mod somewhat...
Lightning shooting guy isn't too bad with ranged attacks, hes pretty easy to kill if you have soul arrow.
Melee, just learn his pattern and keep up with him.
I'd say its a tossup between 4 and 6 (2 and 3 US), with a slight nod to 6 (3).
Such a great game. I'd LOVE to see them re-do the entire storyline start to finish with today's graphics.
But of course, they'd wind up changing something and we'd all hate it. So I guess its for the best :D
I started up as a pyro -- I like how hes kind of a mix between combat and spellcasting. Not sure which of the 2 I'll focus my points on. Combats very satisfying in this series, but I've always, ALWAYS been a sucker for a spellcaster.
I also got the master key.
Do you have 2 monitors? I read online about it not switching to low power mode if 2 monitors are plugged in.
I definitely noticed it go down to 40ish when I unplugged a monitor.
60ish with 2 monitors isn't too bad from what I've read but I'm no expert obviously. But 99 is the cards limit according to the specs. Any higher risks damage IMHO, I'd get uncomfortable at anything over 90.
For me, the main menu of Hard Reset was pretty heavy duty -- card got up to 81/82, and sometimes spiked to 83, but the fans kept it around there. Running around in-game, it hovered around 77-79, whenever it spiked above 80, the fans sped up and cooled it back to upper 70's.
That sounds high to me. From what I read online it shouldn't get that hot.
I fired up a couple games, and the max i saw was 82ish, and then the fan started going and cooled it to upper 70s (77-79c).
That said, the games i fired up weren't that intense -- just cause 2, was gonna do...
Posting from my updated rig :). GTX560ti installed. 750w PSU installed. Upgraded from 4x1gb to 4x2gb ram.
Booted up the first time (YAY!).
Thanks again all for the advice and tips ;).
My video card is running (At idle) around 64-65 celsius. I'm using 2 monitors, and unplugged one...
Will need to wait to get home from work on the 550 brand. Will prob keep the 750 just to be safe.
Thanks ALL for the advice. Will post an update when I get home and installed.
Thanks all for the suggestions! :)
I wound up going with This card -- The GTX 560 ti.
I also got talked into buying a better PSU -- a 750w. I currently have a 550w and the microcenter guy said I should upgrade to at least 650, and 750w for some leeway.
What do you all think? I baught the...
Yea 560 is where I'm leaning. The evga one I linked looks good? Price wise it's right where I wanted and I get a free copy of arkham not bad :). That's a manufacturer overclock right? Looks nice ;)
I usually run the 1680x??? resolution -- which is what I run my desktop at. I have 2x 23" monitors (widescreen), so 2x DVI outputs is a must :). The 8800 has been decent, but if I can get a slightly better card (that won't be absurdly overpowered for my CPU/RAM) then I won't mind a slight...
Cool -- also, apparently there are different brands now? Does it matter which one I got with? EVGA vs Gigabyte, etc?
EDIT: Just looked at the local store near me, and those 2 video cards are almost the same price. :) $250
This is the one i'm eyeing...
So while playing some minecraft last night, my game froze up and my computer froze in an odd way. I rebooted to see some lovely red dots and lines all over the POST screen.
Crap.
So I try re-seating my video card, it works for about 20 minutes, and locks up again. Reboot again to more red...
Is there any redeeming qualities at this point? Has it been improved in the last few months? I'm still in the 'Wish this game was worth playing" camp, and especially if its free, I'd like to take a crack at it if theres anything worth enjoying.....
I just want to comment on a couple things here.
1) I've not gotten this yet (I'm currently doing a Lets Play series for Minecraft, feel free to check it out: http://www.youtube.com/user/direwolf20?feature=mhee)
2) Theres a LOT of developer communication over on their official forums...
So I made a post about 2 years ago when this game was in alpha, then I forgot about it.

Today, I see a game on steam that reminds me of it, and lo-and-behold, its the same game! Now released!
It looks cool. Anyone check it out?
Escapist did...
So I'm in the market for a new game (Been playing the hell outta Minecraft recently, with tons of different mods, and its time for a break from that and something new).
Hopped on Steam, and 2 games caught my eye:
S.P.A.Z. - Space Pirates and Zombies -- Looks like a topdown space game...
Speaking of minecraft, I've been playing around with Mods quite a bit recently. If any of you haven't looked at the mods available for this game, there are a LOT.
IndustrialCraft + BuildCraft are 2 mods I highly recommend. Theres also a ton of smaller ones that add one or two things. The...
Wasn't sure if I should post this in security or OS, so chose here :).
Anyone who uses Forefront should be aware that the Adware: Win32/Hotbar is a false positive.
Not sure if it affects home users, but our network is getting a lot of these alerts today, so I checked into it and found...
I'm also eyeing 2 worlds 2, any comments? :) The online reviews aren't too friendly.
Its either that, or pickup The Witcher so I can eventually play The Witcher 2.
Hey all -- Hoping I've got this in the right forum!
I'm looking for a good recommendation on a Powershell book. I've got decent scripting/programming experience, so I don't want a book that explains If-Then and For loops, I'm looking for a book that assumes a certain degree of programming...
BTW played some more of this last night, and I'm enjoying it. If you liked the first, you'll most likely like this. So far its great, but I haven't gotten too far into it. Maybe 2-3 hours.
