Any use for these old parts ?

Get powerleap's adapter and go to 1.4 ghz. Get a Geforce 4 or radeon 9000 or better vid card. Find out your' mobo's max ram capacity, which is prolly 1 gig so buy 4 sticks of pc100 or 133 256mb sdram. Get water cooling. Overclock to 1.6 ghz. Now its a DOS GAMING system

Is your Rig safe at a LAN?

I went to a lan last week. I was taking files from some random person's computer. and I realized we could modify all of the folders. I downloaded Oscar's File Renamer. We renamed everything including extensions. 0wN3D Biatch. Pic to come soon.

can the heatsink destroy the processor?

Aight im a f**kin idiot. Anyway I guess I was just anxious cause I fried every possible component in a computer in the past. I tried the processor in my mom's dell with the dell heatsink and it booted up fine. The proccessor just doesn't work with the slot 1- to socket 370 converter in my...

can the heatsink destroy the processor?

Yeah but it didnt work at all even when it had proper cooling. The processor never got hot in any of the systems, I doubt it would be destroyed by not using the heatsink for five seconds.

can the heatsink destroy the processor?

Today I tried to install a pentium 1ghz processor using a slot 1 to socket 370 converter into a slot 1 pIII mb. I used a heatsink that was compatible with piii processors, tualatin to be exact. Although my processor was a coppermine, the heat sink still fit on okay. When i went to power on the...

    NORMAL LAYOUT lit keyboards?

I have this keyboard and its definitely not full-size. I was disapointed, but it was only $30 and it has multimedia keys unlike the zippys or the illuminex.

Transferring to a new case [Noob]

I would not reccomend this. HP has this special protection, its like when someone robs a bank the teller throws a stack of cash with exploding dye into the bag with all the money to void it. As soon as you take the mobo out of your old case, something will explode and ruin everything. Its this...

can a bad hd mess up a mobo and cpu?

If the hd isnt secured properly it can. I had a huge server tower with nothing in it except barbones, no cd drive or floppy. I had my quantum bigfoot mounted in the top 5.25 slot. That thing came crashing down one night. It made a path of destruction 3 feet long. Stopping on my x800 pro...

Athlon XP 2700+ Scores LOWER then 1800+ in same system

Try turning off thermal throttling and running the benchmarks. Also if you can try to use pc mark as it is a better benchmark for the CPU than 3dmark which is geared towards the graphics card. Prime95, and specview are also good benchmarks to compare. Or even Sis-Sandra.

    9800 AIW problems

Don't expect blazing graphics if you are using the TV tuner. The reason its grainy is because the monitor has resolution that can't compare to your TV. The only solution to this would be to hook up a digital receiver through your video imput and use that.

Anyone tried the x800pro -> xt mod?

I defintely would not do this until your card is not capable of running games with everything maxed out.

    What do you think?

The cable sleeving is supposed to match the motherboard. If you look closely, all the connectors on the motherboard are UV green as well. PCI, AGP, the dimm slots. The reason for three optical drives is because one is a DVD-Ram drive which doubles as a 4.7 gig hd. My way of backing up files...

I posted another angle on page 3. Thers no way im cutting off the sleaving that too me so long to do. I will probably just tie the wires so its not as cluttered.
