Anyone getting Syphon Filter for PSP?

...demo? I thought the PSP didn't have any playable demos? Is there a demo on that new downloadable content pack that was just released? I didn't want to install it after Sony's rootkit thing.

FS: PSP (PlayStation Portable) W/ Charger & Case!

Have you ever opened it? If the warranty seal is intact, and you have the receipt, I don't see why they would say it's consumer missuse. Did you tell them you think the power board is shot? They might have assumed you opened it to find that out. I'd call them and just say it doesn't turn on, and...

wireless won't connect after a few disconnects

Have you tried changing channels? My wireless connection sometimes drops out, and I have to change channels to use my connection again. It ends up dropping because of some type of intereference every once in a while. I think it's because of my 2.4GHz phones.

    PSU going out?

Yep :) as long as the voltage doesn't go below 11.4V, there shouldn't be problems. That's what I was checking for with the DMM.

    PSU going out?

The reading is from the motherboard's software, and with a DMM. Software reads around 11.4V, and DMM reads around 11.5V.

    PSU going out?

My 12V rail hovers around 11.5V with no problems at all. It's been running stable like this for over a year now.

6800gt - same fps no matter what

The latest NVidia drivers caused performance drops for me. 71.89 seems to be the best driver. Using any version higher wouldn't yield the same high performance as 71.89 did. If you're out of options, it wouldn't hurt to give 71.89 a shot and see what happens.

    major driver issues

If it's an e-machine board, and you know what model it is, check their site. http://www.emachines.com/support/product_support.html They might have the drivers you need for that model. If not, atleast you might find some specifications that will give you a better idea of what drivers you need.

    Which 6600gt to get?

For the card itself, it probably doesn't matter. I think the biggest issue is each company's customer support: how easy it is to do an RMA if something does go wrong, and how long of warranty. Which one out of three is the cheapest? I have a PNY 6800GT AGP that I've had for a while now...

    Upgrading a Pre-Built PC

That's practically a completely new computer, minus the case and drives. Building computers is fairly easy if you take your time and research a lot before doing it. It's good you're asking questions. :p Like Shmuckety said, jumpers are small connectors on the motherboard. You'll see...

I am sick of buying canned air

I'd try dust-proofing your case (not really "proof", but prevent ;) ). I setup some small air filters over the intake fans to block the dust from getting in. Now I just have to suck off the dust that builds up on the outside of the filter; which is good because it's a hassle to move and open my...

build a new computer or buy a 360?

I was going to say buy the Xbox 360 since your computer is decent enough with the 6800 Ultra OC. But since you say you only want it for one game, it'd be stupid to buy the 360. At least your computer will be used for other things.

    Mice advice

Just to add my opinon here: I've had my MX1000 for quite some time now, and I love it. I'd definitely replace it with the same model if it ever died on me. Battery life is excellent (never had it run out on me once), wireless has virtually no lag, and it's extremely comfortable. Go to the...

How to cook an egg w/ 2 cell phones

It isn't, it should be in the "Cooking with Electronics" section. :p Seriously though, this is General Mayhem stuff... If you read the comments on Slashdot here, you'll see that most people believe it's impossible to do.

    laptop CPU upgrade?

Thank you for all that info, I really appreciate it! Finding out that the only possible CPU upgrade is a Pentium III-M, I feel it's definitely not worth the money. The RAM was upgraded from the original 256Mb to 512Mb, but the HD is still the original slow drive. I'll suggest it's time to...

    laptop CPU upgrade?

I'm trying to find out if it's possible to upgrade a laptop's CPU for someone. They're complaining that the Intel Celeron CPU is too slow (I agree). The laptop is an HP Pavilion zt1250 with a Celeron 360 (I think? I'll double check when I get the chance to) running at 1.3GHz. Ideally, I'd like...

Computer Build suggestions --> Good Cause

I'd normally agree, but that's an excellent price. You can end up paying around $50 for one stick alone. I was also going to suggest cutting the DVD burner too (hey, if you save enough, maybe you can build two computers), but for $40 it's not bad. Good idea on this click, you're going to make...

    Help! Lost my Palm Software

I was going to suggest checking out palm's site, and downloading their hotsync and desktop utility (which is freely available). But I'm not sure if it'll work with a Sony or not, even if it's the same Palm OS... You can still try though. http://www.palm.com/us/software/desktop/ I would email...

    Horrible Choke in CS:S

I doubt it was my connection not being able to keep up. I'm on a 3Mb DSL line, and usually get around 50 ping or less, with no packet loss. lol Vsync=poopy if your hardcore? I guess I'm not hardcore than :( Seriously though, Vsync sucks on some games, and works well on others for me. I'd...

    Horrible Choke in CS:S

Just in case the problem comes back, VSync fixed it for me. Without VSync, my FPS would go above 60, and it'd start to choke. I don't think you want to go above 60fps when playing multiplayer.

    $400 laptop at Compusa

    Venice or San Diego?

I would seriously think about this before you upgrade. Getting AGP will pretty much lock you out of the new cards, and theres new ones on the way. I bought my motherboard because it had AGP, and I'm glad I did. But that was a while back. If I had to make that decision now, I probably go with a...

    Question

As RoundelMike said, always make sure the PSU is switched off. Even when the computer isn't on, a voltage is being fed to the motherboard at all times. You might end up blowing something. To answer your question, no, your fans shouldn't run until you actually turn on the computer (not just...

Dual monitors and certain games locking the mouse...

Yep, I don't think this will work the way you want it to. I'm almost positive that as soon as you click on IRC to type something, it'll minimize the game. The reason why that program you found is the opposite of want you want is because it's extremely annoying to have a cursor go to a second...

    Wireless TV Cable?

Not sure... if there is, I imagine the quality wouldn't be good. Using a regular S-video cable from a PC to a standard res-tv didn't look too good. If you're talking about a HD-TV, I'd think the bandwidth requirements would be too high for wireless. Care to explain what you want to setup...

    CompUSA does Price Match?

Probably because you were trying to price match their online only prices. Any of their items that say "Delivery Only/Not Available In-Store" means it's considered an online deal only. If it wasn't an online only deal, then I don't know, maybe some of their store managers are stupid. :p

    OEM PC's and Bloatware

I wish all companies thought like you. I hate having to spend around 2 hours reinstalling Windows, most of it spent on uninstalling and clearing out useless programs. Quick question, first LCD

How long is your VGA cable, and how old is it? I once had that happen when I used a very long VGA extension cable. It's probably interference, and I wouldn't worry about it. In the mean time, you can always buy a shorter higher quality VGA cable if your worried. Or you can even test the monitor...

    CompUSA does Price Match?

Yes, they price match. But they will not price match offers that have rebates, or ones that are from online-only stores. You should have no trouble if you bring in a printed copy of Circuit City's price. They'll usually verify the price on the web real quick. Personally, I like CompUSA...

    Fan Swap = Shocked me

While we're on the subject of PSU mishaps, I thought I once blew up the whole system. Ever see those Y shapped fan extension cables? The male plugs have exposed pins... I let one unused connection hang loose while I had the PC running, and it accidently hit the bottom of the case and sparked...
